The Bunch Have A Good Week!

Our garden is in full swing! T also has okra and corn.

We are having a great summer, at least weather wise. It is starting the third week of July and it hasn't been above 94 ALL SUMMER! In fact, for the next 10 days there is nothing above 92 and 3 of those days will be in the mid 80's! I mean, I really feel for all the poor people in Washington and Oregon who are dealing with temps more than 40 degrees above normal. We haven't even hit 118 here ever! They aren't use to heat like that and without a/c, we KNOW it's brutal. Let's be honest, even with a/c triple digits are brutal. However, we are LOVING our lower summer temps! We are actually comfortable staying outside until about 1. Usually toward the end of summer we follow the rule of outside stuff is done before 10 or after 7. It still is hot, of course it's Texas, but compared to a "normal" summer we'll take it!

I didn't see this zucchini so it got a little large! I put a normal sized one in front of it.

We eat squash at pretty much every meal. We have bread, casserole, and steamed. This weekend we are going fancy and grilling it.

L finished her last volleyball game before she ages out in September. The league assesses your age based on whatever it is on September 1st, which is how A and T cheated the system to each play an extra year since their birthdays fell right AFTER the yearly cutoff date so they weren't ineligible until the next Sept 1st.  They did not win a game this season, but to be honest I think none of them really cared about winning. They just enjoyed seeing their friends, which as an EXTREMELY competitive person and one of their coaches was really frustrating! I want to make them work really hard and basically not make it fun anymore, but that isn't what most of the girls want. They just want to play with their friends twice a week so I really try not to be frustrated and upset. Let's just say it is a work in progress and I am glad it's over.

The last game.

T on the other hand has turned into the basketball super star. He wins most of the free throw competitions even against much older players, though to be fair he is larger than most of the other players, adults included. He is almost 6 feet tall, or as he says 5 ft 12 in, and is only 12! He is going to play for a club team next year and we'll see how it goes. It is going to require a lot of driving since they compete all over and out of state. He is just over the moon that he is finally taller than daddy and can pick up daddy!

😂 He did 100 drop squats b/c C told him it would help him be able to dunk...he can barely walk now he is so sore 😂

Even though we haven't really missed our oven yet, we are going to get a new one this week. I have never had to buy a new oven before and getting one that is what I really would like has made me pretty excited. The thing I am most excited about is our new oven will have 2 dual burners in the front. We have always only had an oven with one dual burner and cooking for our large family requires multiple large pots and I always feel like I am fighting over the big burner. The new oven is also not only a convection oven, but also an air fryer! Yay! I can have an air fryer without getting an extra appliance! I am still more excited about the 2 big burners.

D has been doing well and hasn't really had any issues with his leg. I however did something to my knee. It feels fine unless I try to turn quickly or when I step off the deck and then it starts hurting. It is on the same leg that I twisted my ankle when I fell last week in the garage so maybe it is still recovering from that. I really hate not being able to go at 100%, but 24 just gets harder with each passing year. 24 is just not what it was a couple of decades ago!

A is becoming more independent, FINALLY! She actually drove an hour voluntarily to go visit a friend! THAT IS HUGE! She has started taking the car to do little things she wants to go do and is becoming more comfortable driving. After all the tears in the beginning, I thought we might never get here! She has signed up for all her college classes, contacted various people to get her student loans reinstated, and is ready to start school on August 23. I am really proud of her.

💜A is all grown up ❤️

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
