The Bunch are Christmas Ready!

We are in the Christmas spirit.

Yay! Our favorite time of the year is here! We have the outside lights up, the indoor decorations done, and have started our Christmas baking (we had to bake somethings early this year because the farrier comes in the first week of December this year and I like to give him some goodies. You take care of your farrier!). The younger kids just finished the fall semester on Friday and have started their Christmas holidays. A finishes her last exam on Monday and then we get to enjoy the holidays. Well, we have about 8 basketball games all over the metroplex and beyond so that will keep us pretty busy, but other than that we will be watching Hallmark movies and baking. Yay! Of course, we have the wedding coming up soon too, so we have a few things left to do for that, but all in all we will get to slow down a lot.

The tree was decorated with only non breakable ornaments this year, thanks to our cat. However, all the ornaments now sit on the top 1/3 of our tree. Again, thanks to the cat! She loves Christmas!

L sings her Christmas concert on the 12th in both services. After singing in the services, her choir is going to sing at a nursing home and then head back to church to have their Christmas party. Basically, we will be at church from 8am to 5 pm. It will be a long day. L made some cute gifts for her friends in choir. She baked some mini banana breads and made hot chocolate mix. We have a hot cocoa recipe that is super yummy. Hands down it beats the instant store versions easily.

T was baptized this weekend. D was allowed to baptize him. It was a great moment. Afterwards we went to a small rural church that is near our house. They were doing a live nativity and some caroling.  It was a great evening that really made it feel like Christmas time.

D was excited to be able to perform T's baptism.

T was excited too!

But also a little bit nervous since he put his shirt on inside out.😂

He was just nervous about speaking in front of everyone, but he did great and had no need to be nervous.

Apparently, the water was nice and warm. When I was baptized, it was a little chilly. T said it felt like a hot tub.

D told him to bend his knees.

He did it!

There was a reception afterwards for all the baptism candidates and their guests.

We celebrated.

There was also refreshments at the live nativity.

The sunset was beautiful against the cross.

It was a fun time. The majority was on a projection screen, but they had actors acting it out on the sides.

T put up the Christmas Village this year. We only put up about half of it since I only cleared a couple of shelves.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
