The Bunch Are Ready For Nationals

I got groceries for our trip from Aldi and the cashier actually didn't just dump all the food in the cart on top of each other! I had to take a pic for proof b/c that NEVER happens. Worst part about Aldi.

It has taken a lot of work to get everything ready to go for A while we are gone and with D still on a 10# restriction I have literally been doing most of the heavy lifting. T has been my helper. First thing we had to do was stock up on feed for all the animals, even if they might not need it while we are gone I still bought some so A wouldn't have any issues. This required multiple 50# bags since we have layer chickens, baby chicks ( yep, require different food than the layers), and the equine. We were taking the dog with us, but left the cat to keep A company. She has the cat, 21 chickens, the donkey, and the horse, which she is absolutely terrified of, so that creates another issue when preparing. I have to arrange it so she can take care of them without entering the pen, which is possible if it doesn't rain. T and I pre-bagged an entire week's worth of hay for her, cleaned out the pen ( which means scooping about 300 lbs of poop), and moved the water trough close enough to the fence that she could put the hose in it without entering. I also had to stock the trailer for a week with supplies and deal with various roofing salesmen trying to get our business from the storms. We are just going to deal with that headache when we get home from Nationals.

They are so big after one week! Also, we have one chick that looks a little different from the rest. I hope she is just a late bloomer and not a he.

They are twice the size of last week and are getting feathers instead of fluff.

I also had to plan out meals for A and make sure she had groceries. Is she almost 20? Yes. Will she go to the store, buy food, come home and cook? No. She'd live off cereal, coffee, and apples if I didn't make sure she had real meals ready to go. I know she gets lonely when we travel, but usually every evening she calls and we talk or video chat for an hour or so. It is the next best thing to her actually being able to come though it is nice to have a built in animal sitter. I will say the other two moved right into using her bed as extra storage for their stuff. Actually, L uses A's closet space and shares A's bed with T for extra storage.😂

Once we get back, I only have 2 days until L's 17th birthday and then next month is graduation. Time is just going crazy fast!

Wish us luck at Nationals!

T's team's last game. Only 8 made the trip to Nationals.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
