The Bunch Celebrate Easter And Get Their RV TOTALED!!

First off, we had a wonderful, and more importantly relaxing, Easter. The kids still had their egg hunt and T was once again victorious on collecting the most eggs. He now has a three month supply of candy. The girls both collected about the same amount, with L pointing out that technically she had more than A had. L is always competitive with her sister. It must come from being the middle child. We had our traditional breakfast of egg gravy and toast/biscuits. I had some trouble finding a ham this year so we almost made Easter pork chops, but two days before Easter, Aldi came through and not only had a ham, but had it 60% off! I made a potato casserole and some green beans to go with it, but the best part was L made Memaw's chocolate pie for dessert. L made a homemade cinnamon sugar crust for the pie and the combo was just magnificent. It was a great day!

L likes to use shaving cream to dye her eggs.

We were out of red dye (and so was the store) so only blues and greens.

They still turned out pretty though.

T just colored his and drew pictures. Since A was busy with work and school, I dyed her eggs. It is a lot harder to think of what to do than I remembered!

L capturing her sentiments about graduation.

T's Harry Potter egg was my favorite!

T got dribbling glasses and gloves in his basket.

He says they really help. They force him to use his hands and eyes correctly while playing.

We had a huge hail storm come over our house during the March 2nd storms. We were one of the "lucky" ones and had one of the strongest hail cores basically drop large hail over us for about 5 solid minutes. This was the same storm that caused a flood around our house. Basically, we got to contact every insurance company we have to make a claim. We started with the house since it was is the most important. We are getting a few new windows and a roof (Also, a new chicken coop roof).

After that we contacted the car insurance, but just for A's car. I thought the basketball goal banging into the roof would have caused the most damage, but the adjuster said that, in fact, it was the hail damage. The damage was so bad that an attempt to try to suck out all the hail damage would just make the roof collapse so she takes her car in this week to get about 4 new panels on her car. The insurance is paying several thousand dollars on fixing it. All the other cars, except D's, sustained damage also, but because of age the insurance company would just total them out any way. They sustained less than A's car so we decided not to make a claim for them. D was at work when we had our big storm. It is a running joke that he is never here when we have big weather events. Ironically, this happened on his VERY FIRST day back after 6 weeks! At least one car was fine.

Or was it?!? If we didn't have bad luck then we would have no luck at all this year. While my darling husband was out serving the community, a lady decided it would be a great idea to park ( I'm sorry! I mean leave in neutral) her car at the top of the hill in the PD parking lot. Guess who parks at the bottom of the hill, away from everyone? Yep, you can put two and two together. Now, we get another insurance to deal with. Luckily, it's USAA and they have been a dream to deal with, but all the body shops are backed up from the hail storm and so it won't get fixed for about 3 weeks.

You think that would be it, but sadly no. The final insurance company, the RV insurance, was the icing on the cake. Our poor little RV that we love and use all the time by far sustained the worse damage, but it did help save the cars. The roof, west facing side, front side, and rear all had numerous amounts of damage. So much damage that the estimate to fix it was just under $35,000, for the RV we bought brand new 4 years ago for $17,000. Yep, the insurance totaled it out. Fortunately, I had paid for replacement cost insurance. While they gave us $6,000 more than we even paid for the RV, after looking around for a replacement we discovered prices were up about 60% from four years ago AND interest rates have doubled. Therefore a new RV was not something we could afford right now. We took our RV back as a salvage and basically the insurance company just paid off our loan and now we own the RV outright. There are somethings we will have to fix, but mostly the damage was just cosmetic, but everyone will know we were in a hail storm. It is very obvious, but we end up using it so much when we have sewer or well issues that we just didn't want to be without that luxury. Plus, you know how I love to go on adventures and travel with the kids.

The moral of these stories is always get good insurance with a reputable company.  I hope everyone else is having a better year than we have had so far.

We took some of L's graduation photos. These are the rejects. The good ones will come on her graduation announcement ☺️

My babies are growing up❤️

She wanted to hold one of the baby bunnies that are out by the barn, but we decided not to get that dirty trying to get them out from their hiding spot. They are super cute though. So far we have  7 babies for this year. We'll see if we end up with more than the 48 we had last year.

Awww! Iris wants to see what were doing.

Nope! Iris ate her flowers!😂

T was not the Offensive Player of the year this year ( but was close). He was not Defensive player of the year ( but again he was at the top of the stats chart), and he was not MVP. HOWEVER, he did get an award! They give out an award called the Rattler Award that recognizes a player that made a big contribution to the team overall, but was not the leader in a specific category ( yep, stats are kept for EVERY GAME, which we found out was almost 50 this year and we only lost 13. Most of those were after the bad attitude kid joined). T was so surprised to get an award since he already knew from the stats he wasn't first in offense or defense. He was super happy, especially since your teammates vote on who gets it.

The team

It was a cute set up.

He was really happy for the recognition.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
