The Bunch Celebrate L' s Birthday And The Babies Move Out To The Coop

This year L's birthday fell on a day where both D and A would have to be at work so T and I set off to celebrate her fun day with her. Our first stop was the Tanger outlet mall. Our Aunt had somehow found out that Lululemon had a temporary pop up store there. L had wanted a new pair of workout pants for her birthday and had received a gift card. This pop up store had everything 60% off! L was able to get 3 things for the same price she would have paid for one thing online! She also found some fun stuff at forever 21. The Tanger outlet mall was really nice. There was a lot of nice outdoor seating and the weather was just beautiful. We plan to go walk around there again on another nice day this summer. After we finished at the mall, L wanted to go to a couple other stores back in Denton and get some Chick fil A. She has become addicted to their market salad. Later in the evening, she wanted to go to her church group to visit with her friends. She had a fun day and even though my flare up made walking very painful, I was very careful not to whine about it or rush her, even if I really wanted to!

T waiting for L to come open her gifts.

L happily opening her birthday gifts while T is busy drawing on the board.

L not realizing what T drew on the board!😂

L opened her cards on the morning of her real birthday.

T helping A shop the Lululemon deals while she is at work.

L had a great time finding deals.

T and I sitting patiently while L went to find her deals. We are not shoppers.

I have been dealing with HORRIBLE allergies lately, like most of the rest of Texas residents. I have been taking both a pill and using a nasal spray and I am still having some problems. This hasn't stopped me from wanting to get out and enjoy the nice weather though and we had the opportunity to go to the Denton County Youth Rodeo. It was so much fun! All five of us went and everyone had a fantastic time, though the boys wished they would have remembered their jackets after the sun went down. T thought he might like to try to bull riding and steer wrestling. I let him know that if he did bull riding that he probably would not be able to play basketball. He would be too sore! The first bull went after both the horse and a clown. It was mean! I am so happy T would rather play ball. I could get on board with the steer wrestling. We'll see if he wants to pursue a rodeo career. It was a WAY different world than the sports world we're use to. It felt calmer and more fun.

It was beautiful when we went, but could not imagine doing this in August!

It was something different than we normally do and a lot of fun.

Those horses must have jogged with those flags for about twenty minutes.

There were kids of all ages. Even 2 year olds did the mutton busting (sheep riding).

The roping is always my favorite. Unfortunately, it's always last.

It was a great night.

You bring a horse close enough and this happens.

D has been feeling better. He is back at work at his regular job and no longer on FMLA. After all his tests and doctor visits, we know he is super healthy and we assume he just has to get use to the new older version of him. That is always hard. I had to do it a couple of years ago when I was about his age. We'll play it by ear going forward and see how he does. So far he has been doing so much better than he was.

It feels like it has been 5 months NOT 5 weeks since we got the baby chicks. We have a suspicion that one is actually a rooster, but we're hoping we're wrong. However, one does not look like the rest. We should know for sure in the next couple of weeks.  The first two weeks the babies stayed in our laundry room. We then moved them out to the garage and today they moved out to the coop! They will stay in their own pen for another 10 weeks and then we can merge them with the bigger chickens. We just have to let them get bigger or the other girls will seriously injure them. I can't wait. It is so much easier when they are all together and not having to be separated.

Have a happy Easter everyone!

She will curl up and sleep on anything new or not where it normally goes. This was the basket of towels I washed to take back out to the RV.

We have been busy painting and adding the baby coop to the main chicken coop.

We still have to replace the roof thanks to the hail storm. We also have to make an auto claim for A's Car and one for the RV. Super stressful.

L painted little flowers on it.

The babies in their new outdoor coop. They are so big now!

It made me feel bad since they cried most of the day, but they will get use to it. They are like little old men and hate anything new.

T has been working out with me during off season and this pretty much sums it up!

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate Christmas

It's become tradition for T to wear a Santa hat on Christmas. Our Christmas was pretty low key. D was able to go in late so he was able to have Christmas with us before he went to work which was really nice. The kids and I packed up and moved Christmas brunch to C&H's house since he needs to stay close to home and we worried about the lack of emergency care both on the way to our house and while here. I made up a potato casserole ahead of time, brought stuff for garden scrambled eggs, and banana bread while H made a really good cranberry punch and some pigs in a blanket. I have to say for only 5 people we had a ton of food! In fact, T ate so much for brunch I don't think he really ate anything for the rest of the day. He also finished his very last hour of driving on his way back home! Driver's license here we come....next week! After the mess Axl made last time we left him in his crate, we reenforced the doors with zip ties. We also made sure to take him on a wal...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...
