The Bunch Start School

Noelle loves to be toted around and carried!

We are getting back into the swing of fall, even though it's crazy hot. I am so over summer that I already have started putting up my fall decorations. It feels like fall inside our house. Our brief cold front and subsequent break from insanely hot weather is appreciated. I just wish the high heat would go away. It's got to be close, right? The last 2-3 years we have not hit 100 after August 12 and that makes summer a little more bearable. However, hitting 105+ for over a month and with no foreseeable end makes it seem like FOREVER summer!

T has started back to school, but with A and L not having started yet, he feels a little jaded about it. Even though he knows he will have days off that they won't get, he still resents having to work while they enjoy their days. We're gearing up for birthday week. T's biggest wish....to go eat at a pizza buffet! I don't do buffets ever. It promotes overeating and bacteria growth, but D introduced T to it one day last spring and he just thinks it is the coolest thing ever and has talked about it ever since. He even told us he was having his birthday dinner there in April, right after he first tried it! Since L and I are gluten free and D can't eat any processed foods or a lot of fat because of his pancreatitis, I guess we'll just all go and watch T eat his pizza buffet!😂

L is starting to get really excited to start college on the 23rd. Her books shipped yesterday so she should have them in time for the first day, which A's school NEVER manages to do. She had to have them shipped to my parents house because her school book store kept saying our address was invalid. We finally just gave up and shipped them to my parents since it accepted their address. She is taking 3 classes. She wanted 4, but most were already full. Since she is a new student she had to register last so several classes were already full. She is taking an english class, math class, and a design class.

A finished her summer class with an A and now gets to enjoy a week off from school before fall classes start. She is getting really antsy about finishing school. She says it feels like it has been forever. I remember that feeling! Your whole life has been school, school, school, and you're ready to be done. It will come sooner than she thinks.

Since D's pancreatitis diagnosis, he has been in to have a scan done to see the extent of it. It took a week to get in to do the scan and so far it has been another week and the doctor still hasn't called about the results. Our nurse practitioner that we loved recently moved out of town so we had to start seeing the only doctor. It takes a month for new patients to get in to see him and our issues with getting him to send orders off, answer calls, and communicate with us has been horrible. Unfortunately, there is no other close option. Yes, we could drive back to Denton, but when we're not feeling well or D just needs to pop in and have him check his blood pressure to get his BP medicine refilled, it is really nice that it is just right in town.  D has really been trying hard to eat right and that combined with the PPI medicine the doctor prescribed, he has been doing a lot better. Not perfect, but better.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
