The Bunch Pick Up T From Camp And Have More Fun Jar Fun

My wonderful kids💕 and I

T returned from camp around lunchtime on Saturday. Watching the kids disembark from the bus was like watching zombies invading. 😂 Both adults and kids a like were functioning on nothing! I have to hand it to T though, even though he went to bed early, he managed to stay awake and not nap all afternoon. He literally was not functional and only able to sit in his recliner and converse, but he was awake. He also managed to come home WITHOUT getting sick! He says the key is to NOT run the 5 k they have on Wednesday morning. The two years he has ran it, he has come home sick. The two years he hasn't ran it, he has been fine, just tired. I kept our schedule fairly fluid this week just in case he came home sick. Since I had cleared our schedule for the week, we got to have some fun time.

The first thing we did was we went to go visit our Aunt S. We hadn't seen her in about a year so it was really nice to catch up. She took us out for lunch at the Mexican Inn and it was so good! I forgot how much I liked the Mexican Inn since we haven't eaten at one in almost 15 years! After we dropped her off at home, we went to go to Trader Joe's. The one that is close to her is so much bigger than the one in Austin. They both had about the same amount of stuff, but there was just more room to maneuver in this one. We basically stocked up on junk food. We bought several bottles of wine and a ton of cookies/candies. The kids also got frozen macaroni and some pizzas. I am not kidding when I say we had NOTHING healthy in our cart. However, we are pretty good about not going crazy and limiting ourselves so we should have the treats last a couple of months. I also got some black chai concentrate to make chai tea lattes. I bought two in case I liked it because for $3 a bottle it was so much less expensive than Amazon. It is so good! We'll be back to visit soon Aunt S because I am going to want more tea! It tastes very similar to Starbucks and if I can find the pumpkin spice flavored syrup, it will taste just like the ones Starbucks makes at Thanksgiving, but at a tenth of the price!

D and Aunt S

One of the things we drew from the fun jar was go kart racing at Andretti's. The closest one to us that is open is in the Colony about an hour away. This place has EVERYTHING! In addition to go kart racing there is also VR games, an arcade, bowling, a restaurant, and pretty much anything else you want to do. I will say that at $30 pp per race that it is pretty pricey. The boys had a blast. A and I decided we were never doing it again. It's kind of scary. The karts go fast and slide out of control on the turns. I basically just puddled around and came in dead last. A came in 2nd to last.😂 D placed 1st and T 3rd. We raced with another couple. All in all, we had a great time and the boys can race when we come back again and A and I will just bowl or play in the arcade. We also drew go tour downtown McKinney. We went to a gourmet popcorn shop call Ma and Pop Corn.  They are hands down the best popcorn we have ever had! I wanted to do the historical village tour, but they only tour on Thursdays and Saturdays so we are going to go back to do that when it cools down a bit. It was a fun day and everyone was pretty wiped out by the time we got home.

I met A for lunch at Chili's one day while T was at camp. I had the guiltless steak. The pesto sauce on it was really yummy!

In contrast, A ordered her usual chicken tenders with double macaroni. The waitress said she was her favorite customer.😂

Andretti's was so big!

D literally lapped me 3 times🤣 I only took my foot off the brake to go up hills.

Downtown McKinney has an ice cream maker museum. It was interesting seeing the progression of the machines.

Apparently, Benji was filmed in McKinney.

I wanted to eat here, but everyone else thought it was too hot. This restaurant has a huge yard where you play things like cornhole, etc. We plan to eat and play there when we come back one day for the historical house tours.

Today we drew another fun jar activity and T had put in play Monopoly and Charades. Basically, he just kicks our butt every time we play Monopoly so it's his favorite board game. We played for about 3 hours and T, of course won, again. It's not even close. We're waiting for A to get home from work before we play Charades.

T plays in church on Sunday. They say they live stream it on Facebook. It is Grace Bible Church in Sanger @ 10:40am.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Noelle watching the horses. The horses rest by the window constantly. You would think they would go under the trees so they could be in the shade and feel a breeze.🤷

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
