The Bunch Are Wondering Where Summer Went

This was literally the ONLY picture I took this week. 😂 The dogs chewing their bones side by side. They only get a bone on Tuesdays and no worries it's NOT rawhide. We were busy moving hay this week and doing chores so not a very fun week. I will take more pictures next week when we have some fun stuff planned. We have been so busy this summer! Our local school district starts back to school on August 4th. I haven't decided if T will go back to school then or August 18th. We usually start back the first Monday in August, but we might take one last trip before everything gets going in the fall. I cannot believe this is his last year of school and my last year of homeschooling. I wasn't sure we would do it all the way through. There were a few times I almost decided to give up, but we stuck with it and I wouldn't go back and change anything for the world. I had the opportunity to spend so much time with all my kids as they grew and changed. I would have missed so much ...

The Bunch Have Fun And Eat An Abundance Of Melons

He loves his boxes.  This past week T went to his church camp for a week. He has been doing this every summer for about 7 years. He loves it and very much looks forward to it every summer. The past 3 years, since A has been old enough to stay home alone, when the kids have gone to camp for the week, D and I head out to go do some camping on our own. This time while T was away, we headed to Lake Bonham. We did not stay at the Texas State Park. We mentioned in June that we never planned to stay there again until all the updates were done and it was easier to get in and out. We stayed at Lake Bonham owned and operated by the City of Bonham. H had found it for us when we moved them in June to their lake house. It is less than 7 minutes from them by road and maybe one minute by boat. It was VERY different staying there than at anywhere else we have stayed. First off, all reservations are done online, as in you HAVE to go online to register for a spot. There is no other option. We you ar...

The Bunch Have A Fun Fourth

Axl loves cuddles from T.🥰 After dealing with Axl for 2 weeks, he is FINALLY healed from his surgery. At least enough to get his stitches out and stop bleeding all over our carpet. I had just steamed cleaned all the carpets last month, now I am doing it again. Actually, I might just rip the carpet up, put some rugs down, and deal with getting new flooring when we can.  Theme night at camp this year is the 70's, T understood the assignment!😂 Starbucks gave him a pup cup and  at the pharmacy he got a Milkbone. Axl LOVES car rides!!! This is the first time since we moved here that the fourth has fallen on a weekend and the first fourth where it has rained so much that noone was afraid of grass fires. You would have thought we were at war with the neighboring street! It was so loud and constant for about 2 hours! Literally all but two houses on our street set off fireworks, us included. We had about $200 worth of fireworks that we never set off last year. It was actually ...

The Bunch Deal With Axl After Surgery

Poor Axl! We can't wait until he feels better and stops bleeding on everything. We have had a very, very, VERY, long week. Axl had his anal gland surgery on Monday and since then we have basically been cleaning blood off of EVERYTHING. I don't think I have ever washed so many towels and sheets in my life! I didn't realize this surgery was such a major one. I thought his recovery would mimic his recovery after he was neutered. It is not even close. We basically cover the floor in whatever room he is in with tons of towels, which have to be washed about twice a day because he bleeds all over them. It's concerning, but we have taken him twice to be checked on (once he ripped out his internal stitches) and the vets (A had two different ones look at him) say he is looking good and expect the "oozing" to stop in a couple of weeks when the stitches come out. 😭 We tried locking him in the kitchen and the first few nights that worked, but then he felt well enough to e...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...

The Bunch Head To The Ft Worth Protests And Have A Happy Father's Day

Our tradition of a picture next to the marque. Full disclosure, we actually didn't mean to be at the Fort Worth Protests it just kind of happened. A has had tickets to see Moulin Rouge at Bass Hall for several weeks. Everything just worked itself out. We learned of the planned protests only a couple of days beforehand. By then everything was already in place for us to be in downtown Ft Worth. A had a ticket for her show and T and I had tickets one block over to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D at the same time. The protest was planned to be at the park on Seventh Street and we were on 3rd. Pretty close, but hopefully there would be no overlap. However, LOLA (our nickname for Google Maps), "helped" with accidentally sending us up Seventh Street exactly halfway through the protests. Luckily for us, it really was nothing. We saw a few people with signs and passed a pick up that advertised it had stuff to make your own sign if you wanted (I can guarantee my sign would not...
