Our tradition of a picture next to the marque. |
Full disclosure, we actually didn't mean to be at the Fort Worth Protests it just kind of happened. A has had tickets to see Moulin Rouge at Bass Hall for several weeks. Everything just worked itself out. We learned of the planned protests only a couple of days beforehand. By then everything was already in place for us to be in downtown Ft Worth. A had a ticket for her show and T and I had tickets one block over to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D at the same time. The protest was planned to be at the park on Seventh Street and we were on 3rd. Pretty close, but hopefully there would be no overlap. However, LOLA (our nickname for Google Maps), "helped" with accidentally sending us up Seventh Street exactly halfway through the protests. Luckily for us, it really was nothing. We saw a few people with signs and passed a pick up that advertised it had stuff to make your own sign if you wanted (I can guarantee my sign would not have gone over well with the protesters). The only thing that was unusual during this downtown outing compared to all our others was the presence of bomb dogs. We passed three and multiple officers in tactical gear were patrolling the streets. The theater had extra tight security to get inside and had extra uniformed officers outside. The movie theater.....not so much. It was business as usual.😂 The media said about 1500 showed up, unless most left halfway through the rally I dispute that number. A enjoyed her show and left with almost every cast members' signature. T and I enjoyed relaxing in a nice comfortable recliner in the air conditioning while watching our movie, which if you liked the cartoon the live action one is fantastic! We love it when A goes to Bass Hall. There is so much more to do for us down there instead of just going to the museum....though Layla's pizza cannot be beat if we have to go to Dallas!

I thought our movie was going to be empty, but it filled up after all the previews. |
D had a very relaxing Father's Day. We are busy most of the time so he just wanted to go to church and watch a movie. As we are all aware of, Axl is absolutely terrified of rain, not just thunder and lightning, but any drizzle of moisture that may fall from the sky. Since this has been a very stormy spring not only are we crazy tired from our nighttime babysitting, but someone also has to stay home with him pretty much all the time. I missed the last 3 weeks of church to babysit so T stayed home this week with A, and I went to church with D. When we got home we watched Homestead Rescue. It's our new family show that we watch whenever we are all together. We really like it and as a surprise for Father's Day A got one of the stars that is D's favorite to send D a personalized video message! It was so cool! Unfortunately, A thought Father's Day was the weekend before so she had to keep quiet about the video for a whole week! It is crazy hard to keep something that epic quiet for an entire week.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Father's Day!

T was super excited about "pie day". We put the leftover pie from Mother's Day in the deep freeze to finish on Father's Day. T's literally been counting down the days to pie day.😂 |
