Poor Axl! We can't wait until he feels better and stops bleeding on everything. |
We have had a very, very, VERY, long week. Axl had his anal gland surgery on Monday and since then we have basically been cleaning blood off of EVERYTHING. I don't think I have ever washed so many towels and sheets in my life! I didn't realize this surgery was such a major one. I thought his recovery would mimic his recovery after he was neutered. It is not even close. We basically cover the floor in whatever room he is in with tons of towels, which have to be washed about twice a day because he bleeds all over them. It's concerning, but we have taken him twice to be checked on (once he ripped out his internal stitches) and the vets (A had two different ones look at him) say he is looking good and expect the "oozing" to stop in a couple of weeks when the stitches come out. 😠We tried locking him in the kitchen and the first few nights that worked, but then he felt well enough to escape so then the towel everything method started. He jumped the 3 ft tall gate WEARING a cone of shame, which he later chewed up. His determination to do whatever his heart desires is unparalleled. You will not contain him if he doesn't want to be contained! We are so very tired, even T and A have been up helping throughout the night. He is like dealing with a 100 lbs toddler who is extremely smart and very strong.

Out of desperation we fashioned a make shift diaper so we could let him move around more freely. |
We did manage to have one day to go do something fun together. We bought tickets to see The Lion King at Fair Park about 6 months ago. We got there about an hour early to be able to visit the museum and see the costumes and props up close. I was super excited about this! The news had done a segment on it and the costumes looked so neat. I couldn't wait to see them in person. However, the museum ended up being closed because the air conditioner was broken! We ended up just hanging out on the couches in the hall before taking our seats. We were directly on the aisle where the animals came down and were able to see them up close, which almost made up for the museum being closed. We enjoyed the musical and afterwards A and I took D and T to experience Voo doo Donuts. We discovered them while at Universal Studios in the fall and thought D and T would love them. However, Dallas Voodoo Donuts has nothing on the Orlando one. The filling was almost non-existent. The apple fritter only had one apple slice. This experience was nothing like the one A and I had in Orlando. They were decent, but nothing compared to what we were expecting so it was disappointing.

On our way to the big D. |

We were all happy to be getting a much deserved Axl break, who was unbeknownst to us was currently escaping the kitchen and knocking things over with his cone. |
 |
There were so many kids here that proper etiquette during a show was almost non-existent. |

Chillin together on our couch while waiting to go sit in the theater. |

They wanted $40 just to allow us to snap a picture with the marque! One of the workers suggested this instead and I like it. I have never heard of a company charging to take a picture with the marque! Disney just nickel and dimes everything. |

We had really nice seats though I wish Fair Park would get a face lift. It really needs it! |
 |
It looks exactly like the Orlando one. |
 |
I love the decor. It's cute. |
 |
Too bad the donuts weren't what I hyped them up to be! |
