The Bunch in Quarantine Week 8 ....Sort Of

God Bless Texas! The restrictions are being lifted. Life is starting to feel a little more normal. We have no plans for a big party or anything, but I must admit it that it feels wonderful to have options to get out of the house. This week we went to the zoo nearby. They allow pass holders to enter an hour before they open to the public. They are restricting visitors to 365 people a day so we went early to make sure we could enter and because less people are usually out early in the morning. We were literally the only ones there for the first hour. It was wonderful. The employees were just arriving to start feeding the animals. All the animals were being let out and being very active as they waited for breakfast. I don't think we saw one animal just sitting there or napping! Every one was moving around and eagerly awaiting breakfast. Since we were the only ones around we decided to take off our masks and just enjoy the beautiful day.
We are celebrating the ability to go do something "non-essential".

All the animals were so curious about seeing people again.

L loves the fluffy alpacas.

T has had a HUGE growth spurt this past 2 months. He is now taller than both his sisters.

The whole zoo was just ours.

They really separate the kangaroos when they are feed...at least 30 ft apart.

Look Closely...the giraffe is bent over kissing the zebra. It was so sweet.

Nope, apparently not kissing. The giraffe then reared up and chased the zebra half way across the enclosure. It was pretty funny.

I have actually never seen this camel stand up. I was starting to think it couldn't walk.

This ostrich was so curious about us that it followed us around the entire enclosure. It was really cute.

T's hair is getting really long. I am not allowed to touch it though because he wants "Elvis" hair.

The bear was finding the orange pieces hidden for breakfast. It was fun to watch her "hunt" for them.

We have unfortunately noticed that after the governor's stay at home order expired that most people are not wearing masks in public. The spread will stay lower if everyone, even those who don't think they are sick, wear masks. We could then maybe get back to a more normal economy, but I have a feeling if everyone chooses not to wear a mask that the virus cases  will spike considerably and we will unfortunately have to stay home again.
The girls and T will not have sports until at least September and I am doubtful even then. We plan to spend the summer doing things around the house, hiking, visiting the local zoo., and re-watching movie series. Right now we are on the sixth Harry Potter and I think either Shrek or the Hunger Games is next. Texas is allowing State Park camping starting on May 18, but only for those who had previous reservations. I am hopeful that soon they will allow new reservations and we can do some weekend camping. The girls had been taking aerial arts classes in Denton, but now the gym is closed and with no real plan on reopening until fall the girls are pooling all their money (they are good savers with their Christmas and birthday money) to buy their own Lyra hoop for the backyard. Aerial arts is like what trapeze artists do, but instead of the bar the girls use a hoop and silks. I feel bad they can't visit with their friends, but at least they have each other.
I love it when we get to see our oldest child.

L is practicing being safe by keeping her mask on while playing ping pong at Grandma's house.

T played for a long time with Grandpa.

T passed time on the car ride by taking pics of L and putting funny captions on them.

I can't believe she is almost 17! (and still thinks I am mean for making her drive)

We brought flowers to Grandma for Mother's Day. They smelled really good.

My handsome husband enjoying a life outside of lock down....though we have knocked out quite a few home projects. while isolating.

Hopefully, we are able to keep getting back to somewhat normal. This weekend we are going to try to go on that hike we have been wanting to try. We'll see how that goes!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
