The Bunch in Quarantine Week #9

This past week many things have opened up in Texas. You can pretty much go anywhere , but with major restrictions. Unfortunately, gyms, sports programs, and summer camps are NOT among them. In fact, the girls aerial gym has decided not to try opening until mid June at the earliest and will only have 3 classes a day at half capacity. It was hard enough to get the girls into a class with a limit of 12. I can't even imagine how hard it will be to get them into a class of 6 only offered once a week! My poor kids really miss seeing their friends, but it looks like this next summer and probably fall, we won't be able to see much of them. Even though most things are starting to open and we have been anxiously awaiting the ability to get out, we did not go anywhere this week.
D and I spent the weekend adding an overhang to the barn so that the horses can have shade, but still feel the breeze. Ok, D built the overhang with T's help and I played with and took cute pictures of all the baby bunnies that have moved into the barn. D calls it a bunny brothel and would like to get rid of it before it attracts predators, but they were actually pretty smart. By building their nests along the wall, the baby bunnies stay dry and the horses can't walk on them. Also, if any predator gets into the barn the horses will chase it down. We have had several sets of bunnies out there recently in all different stages of development, from a day to a few weeks. They are all so cute! After I spent the whole day uncovering nests and taking pictures mama bunny moved most of them the next day, but after last night's storms they are starting to return to their dry nests. Some people don't know, but mama bunnies only visit the babies at night so they do not draw a predators attention to their babies. They come back at dark to feed and take care of them. Our newest mama lives under the shed and is actually pretty tame around humans. She will follow us around while we work outside...as long as Maisy is in the house.
D starts building the shade shelter...I am the official picture taker.

T helps too. Underneath the white hay trough is the "Bunny Brothel".

And they are sooooo cute! There was about 5-6 in this nest.

And the one little curious rogue.

The kids had school this week. The girls are doubling and tripling up on their schoolwork so they can finish up before June. T could careless about finishing early and just does whatever that day's work is. He went to go get his spacers on this week and next week he gets his top braces. They will add his lower braces at a later date.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. The kids made me breakfast, picked flowers, and made wonderful cards. T even put on an Elvis concert acapella, complete with costume. It was a lot of fun.
Guess who made this card?

L and A made this card and also jointly made breakfast.

T provided the entertainment!

He spent his allowance he saved on his costume and loves it. Now he is saving for the matching cape! I see a lot of summer concerts in our future.

I have enacted an at least one day, maybe two day, a week ban on ALL electronics. We started reading the first Harry Potter book outloud this week.

Going to the Doctor is very interesting now. The have a station set up to take your temperature and provide a face covering if you do not have one before you are allowed to enter.

Once inside the waiting room chairs have been cleared out and you stand on a space until you are called.

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
