The Bunch Get Sno Cones and Visit Family

Wow. We have been super busy this past week. We took our camper to visit my in-laws. What is really nice is that they have a covered parking area so we are out of the direct 🌞 sun. This means that the camper can actually stay cool in the hot Texas summer heat. We have been wanting to go visit them for a couple of days for awhile now. We needed to do some manual work for them. It had been awhile since we had helped them out. Basically, it was a working trip. Their wish list was very ambitious, but we managed to get a pretty good chunk of it done. D helped weed whack and trim tree limbs and T helped me clean out the garage. Ok, we started to clean the garage. The garage is a huge undertaking and will probably take at least two more trips to finish. We also have several more trees to trim when it gets cooler. We literally worked to exhaustion and we just couldn't do anything else. I thought for sure it would be a rough couple of days for me afterwards, but it wasn't so bad. I even managed to get the yard mowed. The girls picked grapes while we were working. They picked about 10 gallons of grapes and didn't even make a dent in the vine. This is the largest grape vine I have ever seen! The grapes make the best jam ever though so it is worth it. It took about 2 days to make the jam and we ended up with just over 3 gallons.
This is what 10 gallons of destemmed grapes look like.

First, we had to boil them and mash the juice out.

Then we strain the juice.

After boiling and adding the pectin, we then ended up with just over 3 gallons of yummy jam.

T has been busy cooking up a storm from his cookbook and playing Zelda with Grandpa. They can play in the game room for hours together. It is really sweet, though apparently Grandpa also plays when are gone which makes me laugh. My father is nearly 80 and plays video games for hours on end. Life has come full circle. I remember him yelling at my brother for doing the exact same thing. Oh well, it is his retirement. At least it keeps him mentally stimulated.

We actually saw my step-granddaughter this week and the girls were excited to spend some time with someone closer to their own age. My oldest just passed all the tests he had to take to be certified to sell insurance. He has 3 months of training now and then he will be able to go out on his own. He was pretty excited about that.
We didn't draw from the fun jar a lot this week since we were so busy at my in-laws and making jam. We did draw another "go get Sno Cones" and this time chose a small local shop. It was actually really good. A and I shared a "unicorn poop" and it was way better than I thought it would be. It had cotton candy, grape, and bubble gum with nerds mixed in and edible glitter. D had a mango one and the other two got ice cream. Tonight we drew a "movie themed night". We are going to watch Garfield, make lasagna, and cuddle with our Garfield stuffed animals. It should be fun.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though...
