The Bunch Accidentally Send the Cat Through The Dryer!!!

Yes, it was as traumatic as it sounds. I have always told the kids to be extra careful every time they use the washer and dryer. For some reason our stupid cat likes to go into them while we are doing laundry. Normally, the door to the laundry room is closed, but when we have laundry day(Yep, it takes all day) we are in and out of the laundry room a lot and sometimes the cat slips in unnoticed. I was doing the laundry this week and as I was loading the dryer I noticed someone had left a tissue in their pocket and I became side tracked cleaning it out of the washer. At this point the cat must have decided to "investigate" the dryer. I finished cleaning the washer out, threw the rest of the laundry in the dryer, gave a once over for the cat, turned it on, and left to go find the cat. We ALWAYS get a visual on the cat when we do the laundry. I only made it about 4 feet from the laundry room when D, who was starting another load, asked me, "what on earth is in the dryer? A bowling ball?" I told him it was just laundry and continued on to go search for the cat. Fortunately, he decided to check out what was going on and opened the dryer door. As soon as the door opened, the cat darted out! She is completely fine and only was in there for about 15 seconds at most, but I felt so bad. D said she was wrapped in a towel. We assume she entered the dryer when I was distracted with the tissue clean up and then I put the rest of the towels on top of her and couldn't see her before I started it. I am just so happy and relieved that my awesome husband was there so quickly. When I wouldn't have been able to find her, I would have stopped the dryer until she was located, but that would have taken about 5 minutes. I really hope this scared her so bad that she doesn't step foot in the laundry room ever again!

The other big thing we did this week was a project for L. We repainted our ENTIRE house almost 6 years ago before we moved. It took months. I never wanted to see another can of paint again! When we moved L's room was now bright pink....she hated it, but I was NOT painting again. She started asking 2 years ago if we would repaint her room for her birthday gift. The answer was still NO. However, this year being her 16th birthday and the fact that I haven't painted a room in almost 6 years, I finally caved and repainted her room. This also entailed going through all her stuff she has accumulated since she was born. I was actually impressed with her Tetris skills! I could have filled another entire room with her old toys and baby doll clothes! She is such a pack rat. She loves to save everything and if I want to throw out a bag  marked "random stuff" (she is a pack rat, but well organized) she accuses me of being unsentimental. She gets these tendencies from my husband's side of the family. My side of the family (and me) are known for throwing things out. In fact, if a cup is left unattended I pretty much always walk by it, pick it up, rinse it out, and put it in the dishwasher. The kids come back through and ask what happened to their drink and, of course, already know I threw it out. It is almost unconscious that I do it. I hate mess and even constantly refold the kid's blankets they keep by their chairs. They come back and see their blanket neatly folded and hanging on the back of their chair and are like "I just went to the bathroom!". It took both L and I two full days to go through all her stuff. She did throw out a lot, but also kept a lot. D now says the attic is full! Her finished room looks fantastic and she loves not having a pink room anymore. Unfortunately, her room looks so nice and clean that the rest of the house looks like it could use a refresh too. I don't think I am quite ready for that!

L has never liked the color pink.

She was excited to get to pick her new color.

I like it too. The room no longer feels like it is screaming at you.

It feels calmer.

The prep work took two days. We had to wash walls, spackle holes, sand down imperfections and most importantly tape the room.

The finished product!

L actually made the blanket on the bed for her sewing class. She absolutely hates her sewing class, but she finally finished!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
