The Bunch Kids Leave For Camp

I only had 2 barely started zucchinis before we left for vacation. No rain. Six days with temperatures around 100 and no water ....AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED!

We only were home a week before L and T left for church camp. I will say that saying church camp is probably misleading. You might imagine a vacation bible school kind of camp. You know, snacks, art, and a Bible verse. Well, this is that....on steroids....times 10000. This camp is an experience. The camp is called Falls Creek. It is in Oklahoma. It is legendary. This is THE largest faith camp in the country and it is easy to see why. It is basically its own christian based city. Activities are ALL day. Literally. Breakfast is at 8am and 11pm is bed. They not only have morning and evening worship, but also content specific sessions the kids can pick to attend. There is probably 50 different sessions they can pick from. There is also a ton of recreational activities. They can play on the basketball court, which T and his friends probably never leave during rec time. There is sand volleyball, a pool, a WATER PARK, zip lining, ping pong, and so many other things. This place is so large the kids ride a bus system to get around. Last year when T came home from camp, he literally fell asleep while unpacking. Imagine him on his floor unpacking his clothes and then imagine me half an hour later going to check on him and just seeing his suitcase open on the floor with T face down in front of it, out like a light. It was quite funny! I fully expect both of them to come home and just completely crash for about 24 hours. I have been a little worried about how they are doing in this extreme heat, but so far it seems they are doing well.

They were so excited to get dropped off for camp!

Look how sweaty T is! They had only been at camp for three hours at this point!

L and her friend. My closest girlfriend has her two oldest kids about the same age as my two youngest and we tend to do lots of things together.... especially sports. She actually took our kids to camp with them and their church, which is why my kids we able to go.

My friend with her daughter and L. They are having a FANTASTIC time.

Of course, they had to compete in a volleyball game... haven't heard yet how they placed. Apparently, cell service is at the TOP of the mountain and since it is so hot no one wants to hike up it to make a call😂

Things here have been very different. I always feel like I am forgetting something. I assume it's just my two youngest children! A has missed them terribly and has been counting down the days until they come home. Apparently, parents time is NOT the same as kids time. She misses their nightly routine of watching shows together and talking, though she did say she had fun with me, but she is glad they will be home soon. It was like a giant hug. We did do some fun things. One day we went into town to try a new restaurant, which is my new favorite, and to go boutique shopping. We also seriously made a dent in all our recorded Hallmark movies that the other two usually veto. D usually tries to veto it too, but mostly ends up getting really into and makes us pause it when he leaves the room. A and I joke that he is a closet Hallmark movie fan.

A went to a flower arrangement class with her friends.

I think she made a beautiful arrangement. note to self: lilies are extremely toxic to cats. Even getting a little pollen on their fur and licking it can cause kidney failure in a few days. So far Noelle seems ok and to have not come in contact with it, but we did throw it away just in case.

Our dog WON'T STOP CHEWING HER FEET! We have tried EVERYTHING. This is where we are at now. It only helps slightly.

I said I wanted pics of us eating so A took one of us.

I took one of A. We LOVED this restaurant.

What taking a pic of us eating apparently means to D! He is so literal!

I look forward to everything getting back to normal next week. Not only will the kids be back, but the crazy hot heat wave will take a little break.

We also found two more bunny nests this week with a total of 11 bunnies. That brings the 2.5 month total of just the nests we have found to 8 with 47 bunnies! Help! We are being invaded!

Have a great week!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
