The Bunch Finish Most of the Holiday Shopping and Have 2 Basketball Games

Cookie is back!

Yes, it is December 3, and we are officially starting our Christmas Break. Why? It is because number one:  I want to and we can, and number two: I really like being able to sit back and really enjoy the Christmas festivities with my family without feeling stressed about all the pressures of the holidays. In fact, we are already 75% done with all our shopping. That leaves loads of time for movies, baking, games, looking at lights, and of course, basketball games. We start school earlier in the fall and work through Thanksgiving break just so we can take a nice long Christmas break. A finishes her classes this weekend and will have a six and a half week break that she is really ready for. She has been on large animals recently and a few of the procedures have left her a little nauseous so she is ready to be able to just go to work and then come home and unwind.

T forgot about Cookie so she over took his chair and blankie!

T had two ball games this week. The first one was in Slidell which is only about 12 minutes from my house! I had forgotten how nice it is to leave for something only fifteen minutes before you have to be there! IT WAS AWESOME!  We won 26-20. T had seven points; one of which was a beautiful three pointer. He was the second offensive player in that game. The first player scored 10. The second game was a game we played against our jv B team. It was really funny. The game was broken up into eight, four minute "quarters" so each everyone would have equal playing time. No subbing. We also split up the starters and let most of the second string start, since they never get to. The boys at first were just jogging around and smiling, just enjoying playing with their friends since everyone knows everyone. However, after the first couple of "quarters" when the fouls started coming, as T puts it, the beast came out! The boys started playing more aggressively and it was just like being at another game, if the other games had eight "quarters". We won 45-41. The starters for this game had 3 normal starters starters and two second string starters. That group had 23 turnovers ( equals 46 in a real game) and scored 15 points. The " second" string was made up of T and another normal starter and 3 of the second string players. They had only 5 turnovers and scored 30  points, with T leading all the offensive players in this game by scoring 15 himself including a couple of three pointers. I would have hated to be that jv team having to listen to their coach after they were beat by a bunch of freshman!

The wish bone was perfectly split!

T led stretches before the game.

I am happily surprised that A has gone to all the trouble to arrange her schedule so she can attend so many of T's games.

T decided to try wearing a headband to keep sweat out of his eyes. It might not be fashionable, but it is functional. He looks straight out of the 1980's.😂

L has been busy baking treats to give her friends for Christmas. After next week's super long day of singing in both services and at the arboretum, the choir will take a break until after the holidays so she wanted to make something for her friends. She goes in to take her final driving test this week! Over the break, we are going to also look at programs for next year. She seems to be leaning towards photojournalism. I will keep you posted on what she decides.

She loves baking. She made white cranberry and gingerbread biscotti.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
