The Bunch Watch L Sing At The Arboretum

 

We had a blast at the arboretum!

The Arboretum was beautiful! Their theme was the twelve days of Christmas and they did a great job. I also learned that having a better camera doesn't equal better pictures if you don't know how to use your camera! The kids took WAY better pics than I did so D and I decided we're going to watch the tutorial on how to use the camera. I miss the point and shoot days. L's group was by far the largest there. They brought their own risers, keyboard, and sound system and performed for about an hour. Afterwards, we walked around the arboretum and looked at all the beautiful lights. I wanted to stay longer, but the general consensus was that everyone was tired and wanted to go home so after about an hour we left.

L arrived at 4 pm with her choir, but we had to wait until 6pm to enter.

It was beautiful.

There were a lot of kids who went.

They set up in the middle of the Christmas Village.

It was fun to look at all the shops set up in the village. However at $9 per cup of cocoa, we decided to wait until we got home!

We were waiting on L so we started playing with the camera.

T took this pic. I am not sure where they learned how to take pics, but it wasn't from me, obviously!😂

What a fun night!

A did really well this semester! Even working about 25 hours and taking a full course load, she pulled straight A's! It was hard and every second she was either working, studying, or sleeping, but she did it! I am very proud of her. She has about another year until she graduates with her actual Vet Tech license. Right now she has her Vet Assistant certification so she is working as an assistant until she finishes her Tech degree. This year I sent our baking day goodies to her work instead of D's. I am not sure D appreciated that, but his work got them the past 14 years so I think it's fine. Besides I did not make very many and his works requires a TON of goodies. 

We are ready for Christmas! I can't believe there is only a week left. Tonight we are meeting C and H in Sherman to have dinner and then go through the drive thru light display. We really LOVED this display a few years ago so hopefully it hasn't changed too much. We are also celebrating D's birthday. He works on his actual birthday so we are going to celebrate this weekend. We might go watch the new Avatar movie, but a 3 hr and 15 run time is really long! We might wait until we can comfortably watch it at home!


Practicing with the camera while L does the dishes. The kids really do help out a lot. They're good kids.

We spent our down time playing cards and watching Hallmark movies.

Maisy is such a helper.

She always wins! I am not sure how, but she has to cheat!

Our tree. T has been asking to open presents almost daily. He really is just a big kid.

Noelle loves her cuddles when it's cold out.

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

  Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. The Bunch Visit Family

  We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. The Bunch Have A Fantastic Week!

  Pickleball is always fun! Now that the weather has been nicer, albeit super windy, we have been trying to do our weekly pickleball match. Basically, this week whoever was playing with the wind won! We still have fun playing even when it is windy. In fact, playing in the wind probably makes us have more fun. The wind gusts sometimes pick the ball up and make it do some funny things, like getting the ball and pushing it back onto your side so you lose a point or blowing it three courts over! Luckily, we are usually the only ones there so it doesn't matter if we play across 4 courts. Afterwards, we usually go get some ice cream/ frozen yogurt and just enjoy our outing.  T went camping this weekend with his troop. They worked on orienteering, which I was super happy about since T needs to work on that something fierce, but unfortunately the boys in troop aren't much better than him at orienteering and the first guy oriented them upside down on the first one so they basically was...
