The Bunch Go To Round Rock For State Tournaments

The team. They were pretty nervous being on such a big stage.

We left for the Austin area on Weds. It was cold windy and not very pleasant here, but by the time we got to our rv park in Austin the weather was pretty nice. I had heard a lot about how bad the ice storm last week was in Austin and how several areas are still without power. The Austin area received about one inch of ice accumulation during the latest winter blast and I will tell you that the damage is real. Most, but not all, places have power now, but the struggle to clean up is real. No kidding, EVERYWHERE you go is piles of downed trees and tree limbs. Some have been put neatly in piles and are awaiting pick up, but most have just been dragged off of streets and haphazardly put out of the way of traffic. Whole yards are nothing but piles of tree limbs. The RV park we stayed at said they were without power for two days and also had several trees that fell, but by the time we got there everything was fine. It was a nice park. We originally had a back in sight, but our rig ended up being too big to fit in it so we switched to a 100 ft long pull thru. It was fantastic! It did cost an extra $9 a night, but it was really spacious and so few people were in the pull thru area that we had a whole row to ourselves, which was really nice for Maisy.

The venue was huge. It had six courts here and two more at another facility. Only players were allowed on the court. Everyone else had to stay on the second floor.

Everyone prayed together before playing. Nightmare team did not end up making it to state. Yay!!

L ironed my hair on Weds night while we watched a movie. It made me lose like 75% of my hair's thickness. I liked it, but not enough to do regularly since it takes about an hour.

After the first game, we went to check out HEB!

I had planned to do a couple of fun things while we were down there, but T's team, unfortunately, just kind of freaked out at the tournament and we were eliminated on Friday and ended up not going to the championship on Saturday. D wasn't feeling so well so it worked out ok. I was a little disappointed to learn instead of one game a day that T ended up play one game at 1 pm the first day and then one at 8am, 1:40pm, and 8 pm on the second. I had planned to go to the zoo or aquarium on Friday, but lucky us, we got more basketball. We ended up just coming home on Saturday since D wasn't doing well and A had a little issue with the horses. We did FINALLY get to go check out an HEB and it was phenomenal! We bought some cupcakes and brisket queso, but they had so much neat stuff. Next year I am going to go to the HEB plus and have dinner at Salt Lick. My aunt loves Salt Lick and has always raved about it so I really want to try it. L was super excited because the HEB had some seltzer water she loves in flavors she never knew they had! She stocked up. I did learn after 4 games that one of the parents thinks their kid might have pneumonia so I am really looking forward to this week. I really don't have time to be sick right now. We are planning L's bday, graduation, and college stuff, getting ready for Nationals next month in MO, doing school, and trying to take care of D's stuff. I must admit I am a little overwhelmed. One step at a time right?

Have a great week everyone!

This place was huge and had such an overwhelming amount of options!

We had fun quickly checking things out. D wasn't feeling too well so he didn't really feel up to a whole lot.

L was VERY happy to find her favorite water in so many flavors.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
