The Bunch Have A Week Forced Indoors Thanks To The Ice Storm

It was like an ice skating rink on our way out to check the horses. I was shocked the horses didn't slip and hurt themselves!

This past week was pretty much spent spending time together as a family indoors. Thanks to all the freezing rain  all T's basketball practices were cancelled ( which was good because there was no way I was driving him there), A and D both had off from (technically A's work NEVER closes due to weather, but anyone uncomfortable driving in it can call in (whose comfortable driving in ICE!?!?, apparently, 3 vet assistants out of 10, 1 vet tech out of 4 and 1 vet out of 5), and we basically just stayed indoors watching movies and playing the Wii. Since it wasn't super cold, the chickens were able to stay outside and did not have to be moved to the garage, which was nice except we did have to go out a couple of times a day and check their water (and the horses water). Other than that, we had a pretty relaxing week. It was so nice to have power through the bad weather. It made it more relaxing for sure.

T did have a basketball game on Friday night, but by then everything was melted and the roads were back to normal. He only played 8 minutes ( because of the ankle injury I mentioned last time), but scored 8 points in those 8 minutes. The boy who scored the most points only had 11 points in 19 minutes so T was playing pretty well considering it was the first time he noticed his ankle bothering him since he started wearing his brace. We won that game.

L sang in both services on Sunday. She has been trying out for almost every solo that comes up, but so far hasn't got one. There is A LOT of kids in choir so the competition is pretty hard, but I am really proud of her for not getting discouraged and giving up.

A is on track to graduate college in December. She is really ready to NOT have to study. She has made all A's and B's in her course work so far, even with working 28 hours a week. She is doing really well balancing everything and I am proud of her too!

This week we head to Austin for the state basketball tournament which leaves A to run the farm by herself, in addition to her work and school. We made everything as easy as possible so it shouldn't take too long for her to feed everyone. In fact, unless an emergency happens, she is only feeding the animals. We'll get all the cleaning and other chores done when we get back. A is terrified of the horse so she'll probably just hang the hay bags on the fence and not even enter the pen, which is fine as long as she feeds them.

We have plans to go do one fun thing while in Austin, we have some ideas on what that will be, but I'll let you know next week what we decide.

D's car had teeth! It was a monster car.😂

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
