The Bunch Have A Busy Week

Can you tell that they are on the blue team?

T and L have been camp counselors at our church this week. Each summer our student ministry puts on a Sports world themed camp for grades K-5. The older kids teach the different sports to the younger kids. T and L leave around 7am each morning and get home around 5pm. Since these camps are really loud, really long, and have a ton of screaming kids all day, I am NOT exaggerating when I say that they literally come home, eat, shower, make their lunch, and go to bed. Bedtime for them has been around 7 pm all week. Since they are gone all day and asleep pretty much after they get home, it has either been just A and me, D and me, or just me. It's a tiny glimpse into life after kids and I got to say it's not horrible. It is REALLY quiet and I miss them helping to do things around the house. Since they have been so busy, I have been doing all their chores plus mine and it's a lot, especially this week with the crazy hot weather. I have to constantly go check on the animals and make sure they are not suffering from heat stress. Sometimes that means taking a half hour and giving the horses a cool bath, bringing a chicken inside to the garage to cool off (our garage has a/c), turning the misters on, or giving frozen treats. I am really glad that next week is cooler.

To earn extra money this summer T made a flier to put in all the neighbors mailboxes. I really didn't expect too much, but he has had about 5 jobs so far and he just put the flier out a couple of weeks ago! Tomorrow he is mowing about 3 acres for our neighbor. He probably really wants to rest after his super long week, but at least mowing isn't super intensive. He just has to sit there and drive around in circles. He also has a weed eating job and another pasture mowing set up for next week.

T and L only have one week until they are off for a week at Falls Creek in OK. Unfortunately, D had to work smack in the middle of this week so my original couples vacation had to be cancelled, but thanks to A agreeing to go pick them up from camp, we are able to get away for a couple of days still. We are going to go to Eisenhower State Park, one of my favorites, take C and H out to dinner, tour a winery, hiking, and just relax. I can't wait! It has been awhile since we have been able to go camping. Most of last year was spent at various KOA's for basketball tournaments. I might even take a nap mid day!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
