The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

A third place mullet!!!! We are so proud! 🤣

What a great week! T and L went to Falls Creek this week in Oklahoma and, as expected, had a fun, tiring time. D and I managed to get away for two nights to Eisenhower State Park, which now has full hook ups at every rv site, and spent a couple of days relaxing. The only one who didn't have anything fun to go do this week was A. Everyone's gift to her was peace and quiet to do her school work in with no one home!

This year the church chartered a bus to take them to camp and back. The kids were really excited to have nice seats, working a/c, and a bathroom on board. Last year they had their bus breakdown on the way home and it left everyone stranded on the side of the highway on a 100+ degree weather. It would have been much faster to just drive to camp and pick them up instead of waiting on them to get back to the church. This year, with a chartered bus, everyone got to ride on one bus. It was so great to see on Monday morning how excited everyone was and full of energy. The texts from L on the first day were rather long and talkative. Fast forward to the last day and her only text was "leaving now". 😂 I will say that even though they both came back exhausted neither of them immediately went to bed, a first for T, and neither has any visible signs of being sick. After T came home last year with a 104 fever, I wasn't sure what to expect. Their week is still clear just in case something develops, but so far they are both just really tired. L was sick almost the whole week before they left so I didn't expect her to get sick, but T really hasn't caught anything yet so I am still a little concerned about him getting sick this week. He really needs to go to basketball practice this week since he had to miss the past 2 weeks so hopefully he feels well enough to do that on Tuesday. L plans to finish registering for her fall semester this week and A just finished registering for her classes. Summer is just flying by for us. We might not be able to finish doing all the things in the fun jar this year. That has never happened yet, but so far we have only done a couple of things this summer. Great news! Out of the 200 kids that entered the mullet competition at camp, T got third place!!! He hasn't decided if he is going to cut his hair yet or go for first next year.

They are ready for a fun week!

They get a fancy bus to ride in!

Everyone is so full of energy BEFORE camp.

They weren't in bad as shape as I thought they would be once they got home.

It felt really weird to go somewhere without the kids. This is the first time in over 20 years that we have gone camping without any kids! The only other one that went with us was the dog and that is because she is super attached to me and would be so unhappy not being wherever I am. Unfortunately, it was super hot and humid so we didn't do much outside. We saw several people gathered around the fire trying to have a fun time camping, but it was so hot and humid! I was perfectly fine just taking Maisy on her morning walks and spending the rest of the day going shopping or watching movies. We met C and H one night for dinner and then afterwards went for our weekly grocery shopping trip. We figured we were in town, had extra space in the camper, and it would save us a trip to town when we got home. Sherman has gotten so big that it even has an Aldi, which I wasn't expecting! Unfortunately, they decided on a stupid layout and placed their fresh fruits and vegetables by the sliding doors, virtually guaranteeing that the hot, muggy weather ruined all their produce, so we didn't get any fresh produce there since everything had mold, but did pop over to Walmart and they actually had a great selection of produce so it worked out. We went on a hike, or least planned on a hike, but after only a mile, even at 8:30 in the morning, we were both dying from the mugginess so we moved our walk to the main roads so we could get some air circulation. The funny part was I had only brought the trail map and not the park map! We ended up walking aimlessly around the yacht club until someone pointed us in the right direction!😂 As sweaty and as bad as I am sure we smelled, I am surprised the yacht club didn't ask us to leave! However, it was really pretty and it was fun to see. I didn't realize that some people actually LIVE on their boats at the boathouse. I know in Chicago they do, but that is on Lake Michigan, which is humongous. This is Lake Texoma and it just seemed a little small to live on in a boat full time.

I FINALLY remembered a before pic!!!

A decided to dye her hair black and I think it looks great!

Mr. Murdoch will stare in at me through the window and "talk" to me when he hears my voice inside. Everyone thinks he's my favorite child and I show him the most attention. They're all crazy!(though look how cute he is)!!

We met C and H for dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

It was fun and as a bonus since we had dinner at 4:30pm we made both happy hour and the early bird dinner prices. You know I love a deal!

There was no breeze on our "hike" and we quickly moved to the road in order just to feel something.

This is what normal barb wire looks like from the car. Notice how you can't even tell that there is barbs on it at all.

This is the barb wire around this house and pasture. The barbs were as big as my hand! What on earth are they trying to keep in?!? A rhino?!?!

I had so much fun on D and I's visit to a local winery.

Our campsite

Denison was a really cute town. They even had live music in the downtown area. It would have been fun to go to, but it was so hot that we weren't really up for it.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
