The Bunch Deal With the Artic Freeze

At least this time the crazy cold weather will only last 3 days and NO days will be below 0. Actually, we won't even get close to 0. The lowest temp should be around 8. Now with the wind chills, that will feel about -3, but that is still way better than the infamous freeze of 2021 where it was -6 with -15 wind chills. Whenever it gets down to single digits, we move the chickens into a tent in the garage. It's kind of a pain to do it, but it is really nice when they not only get to stay warm, but we don't have to go out all the time to check on them. We still have to go out 3-4 times to check on the horses and make sure their water isn't frozen over and clean up a bit, but it's nice to not have to worry also about checking on the chickens water or making sure we get eggs before they freeze. We even brought Murdoch in. He is in a cage next to the girls tent. He is actually doing better in his little cage than I thought he would.

This week we actually have NO games! We still have practices of course, but a week off is nice, especially since next week we have not only a game all the way in Ft Worth, but also a two day tournament in Mansfield. We then have about 2 games and 2 more 3 day tournaments and then we have our week long national tournament in MO. After that, the season is over! This year actually wasn't too bad since two thirds of the games were within 30 minutes of our house.

School starts back up for the girls this week. A is on track to finish by the end of the year and L is just getting started. Hopefully, L is able to settle into a routine and keep up with her classes. She is only taking two and it shouldn't be too overwhelming.

I hope everyone stays warm and has a great week!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
