The Bunch Enjoy The Nicer Weather

We made it to Fair Park with only a little bit of an issue.

What a fun week! For Christmas A bought her and I tickets to go see Shen Yun. I have seen advertisements for this over the past 20+ years and have slowly come to want to see what it is about and how it has managed to last so long. What it is about is China before the rise of Communism. It showcases traditional Chinese dances and songs along with traditional instruments. While some of the story was a little corny, the costumes, dancing, singing, and instruments were very interesting. We had a wonderful time and since we were out and about in Dallas we went ahead and made a visit to Trader Joe's. Which in a complete power move, the girl scouts had set up a cookie booth right in front of the gym next to Trader Joe's! There was a literal line to buy cookies. Lol. Dallas actually kept to their word and put up fencing under the overpasses and bridges to keep the homeless encampments at bay near the Fair Park area. Most of the shows are done in the Opera House which is in a much nicer area than Fair Park Music Hall, but the bigger shows still utilize Fair Park because it seats about 2000 more people. Our next show is in March for Les Miserables at Bass Hall and then we have great seats at Fair Park again in July to see the Lion King. I am so excited about that one! We think we picked the seats on the aisle the "animals" enter from!

They have a show in a lot of cities. There is 18 companies that tour all over the world.... except in China where it's banned.😂

We had great seats! This was their very last show and the venue was maybe only half full. I felt bad for the dancers, but it was great for us because nobody was in front of us or next to us.

To tell you how empty it was, we went to the bathroom AND waited for concessions during a 15 minute intermission. It is usually pick one or the other for women.

We were just walking into the venue.

I was very excited that A did something so sweet for me🥰

This year should be a lot of fun. Besides enjoying some musicals, we are also going on T's senior trip, and having some camping/hiking weekends thrown in too! We are going to OKC for T's senior trip. There is a River Sports facility there, which is where part of the 2028 Olympic will be held, that does white water rafting, tubing, surfing, skiing, zip lining, and whole bunch of other fun things! His trip is only going to be a couple of days instead of a week or two like the girls because he wants to come back home to do something else. A wanted to go to Chicago for her trip, L wanted to go to Galveston, and now T wants to go to OKC. Every trip requires less and less driving! I tried to talk him into going to Uvalde, TX to drive and shoot a real tank, but he wasn't interested. We use this as our last big family trip before the kids get busy with their adult lives. We hope they have lots of fond memories of all the places we have gone and things we have seen. I know we all have lots of funny stories, like the time D almost drove us off a mountain or when our navigation system took us to a barren lot as our final destination! It's been fun and I look forward to all the adventures we will have as they all get married and have their own kids.

We got A MiMi pajamas for Christmas.

They have become like 2 peas in a pod. They work out together, watch their shows together in the evening, play basketball together, and A even bought them a Lego Harry Potter set of Diagon Alley to build.

We went to play pickleball together as a family for the first time in 2 months yesterday and had so much fun! We were super rusty since we took a handful of lessons, played a few times, and then took off for 2 months, but as always we spent the afternoon laughing hysterically together and then went to get some ice cream. It is one of our favorite family things to do. Basically, what we have learned is that whoever is paired with T wins.😂

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though...
