Noelle is ready for the cold snap. |
The Bunch have put the holidays behind us and are really excited for the new year! The Christmas tree came down on the 26th of December, but not because I am excited for Christmas to be over or anything, but because Noelle would not stay out of the tree! She tried to use it as a hiding spot and let me tell you, the branches are NOT designed to hold up a 10# cat! They start sagging and making my tree look like there are huge holes in it. It's so frustrating! She also knocks off the ornaments and tries to eat the plastic needles. I thought MiMi would be the issue since she's a kitten and it's her first Christmas, but she actually did really well. She let me know up front that putting my grandma's hand crocheted popcorn strands up would be an issue so I sadly left them off this year and she did great. Since Axl has decided his nighttime duty is to keep the kitties in line when Noelle would get up to her Christmas tree antics during the night, he would bark at her to stop so, yeah, the tree came down ASAP. However, I did keep the other decor up until this week and the roof lights are still up (though that's mostly because it's too cold for D to take them down).
The week of winter has been a pain. Not only is it super cold, but the septic pump went out so we are dealing with that too. I guess that's better than the well pump though. Poor T has his driving test at the DPS this week on the only day that's suppose to have several inches of snow. We are really hoping the storm holds off until night time because if we have to reschedule his test it will take another 4-6 months to get in. I hate the DPS!
The animals are ready for the cold weather. It's not a super cold snap so all the chickens can stay outside and not be moved to the garage which makes things a lot easier.
Everyone stay safe and warm!
