The Bunch Are Cruising Through Summer

Well, I didn't take any pictures again 😔 No worries though. Next week we have a lot planned so there should be lots of new pictures. Here's a flashback from Google to enjoy!

We have been so busy getting ready for T's graduation parties, getting him ready for school in August (which he was very upset to learn he has to go to school on his birthday 😂), dealing with the cars issue, and now Axl surprised us by breaking the couch. It's a lot, but hopefully we can enjoy the slower pace of summer soon. We haven't even had time to get our fun jar ideas together! That's a big deal for us. We love the fun jar! I figure we're so busy right now anyways that we won't be able to start for a couple of weeks anyways.

The most pressing issue is our lack of a cars. We are so grateful for the loaner from D's friend. I really don't know what we will decide to do. The little mirage commuter car is definitely not coming back. That was actually a great car for commuting. We might buy another one. I have absolutely no complaints about that car. It did exactly what we needed it to do for 7 years with virtually no issues. In fact, if we hadn't done preventative maintenance and flushed the transmission 2 months ago, I think it would still probably be fine. I probably will never flush another transmission again until it starts overheating and requires it.  The SUV is still not back yet and they keep finding more things that need to be fixed so that bill keeps going up. It better last like 4 more years after all this!

T took his firefighter entrance exams this week. They only accept 20 students into the program each semester and there is about 200 applying for the fall semester. The exam determines the top 20. We thought we would have to wait until July to see if he made it, but he scored so high on the exams that they accepted him on the spot! So he is definitely in the program and was able to secure a spot at the campus in Gainesville so he is only 15 minutes from school! We were really worried he would have to go to the Corinth campus which would be a nightmare with traffic. We have been so busy doing school stuff that I don't think it's really set in that I am done. This fall will be interesting!

H had to go do a glucose test this week and because of the gastric sleeve it's really hard on her. It didn't go well so she has to finger prick every day this week to monitor her glucose levels. We are so excited to find out Grandbaby Blob's gender next week!

A has had two dates (two times each, lol) this week and it's good to see her being active. One of her dates even took her rock climbing. She appears to really like one guy and has decided to only be friends with the other one. Her summer of working Tuesdays has started. She normally works Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and her turn for Saturday. This week she started with a bang. Not only does she have to work on Tuesday, but it's her weekend to work Saturday and be on call all weekend. She is really looking forward to her co-worker getting back from Germany in 8 weeks! She likes her work life balance and she's such a saver! She has almost 3 years of her salary saved/invested. She can put down a really nice down payment on a house in a couple of years. I don't really worry about her financial future.

D has a little break from training for a couple of weeks which is nice. He gets to be present for all our family stuff for the next couple of weeks!

My Dad's progress has been phenomenal! We even went out to lunch this week and he only used his cane AND walked all the way from the parking lot including stepping over a curb! He has two treatments left on this round and then gets a 6 month break. We hope to go visit my in laws soon.  It's harder to visit them when D works so much because they live so far from us, but we miss them and want to see them very soon.

Aj going on her first hike at Glen Rose.❤️

Lots of fun memories 🥲

Traveling with family is always fun...Branson is always fun too!

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
