The Bunch Kids Come Home From Camp!!

The kids have been practicing their card tricks, probably to show their friends from camp.

We missed the two youngest kids like crazy during the week they were at camp. Everything just felt strange while they were gone and we were super excited when the day came to go pick them up. Unfortunately, their bus broke down on the way back and they had to transfer to another bus so they ended up being a couple hours late. They were both so tired! T could barely stay awake on the drive home and while L seemed more awake even she came home, unpacked, and then crawled into her bed to sleep. T crawled into bed too and we did not see either of them really until the next day.  We also learned that my friend who took the kids to camp tested positive for COVID-19 when she got home. I decided to test both kids since they were with my friend all week. Ironically, T tested positive, but L did not. Because of D's work policy regarding COVID once T tested positive then he had to stay home for 10 days. I expected us all to get sick, but after 5 days the girls and I tested negative for COVID (L for the second time), but D tested positive. We will have to test him in 5 more days and if he is still positive then he has to go to the doctor to get a note to be cleared to work again. We had big plans to celebrate the 4th with C and H, but now we are quarantining, so far for at least 10 days.
The reason our July 4th plans had to be cancelled. I am still not sure why only the boys have been positive . Maybe it takes longer to develop in girls?

The kids had such a great time at camp. I wish their days weren't so long so that they had more time to rest. They go go go from about 7 am to 12 am for 5 days! Most of that time is outside too and I was a little worried about that since it was well over 100 for every day that they were at camp. One day they both got up at 5am to do a 5k (3.1 miles)! The camp is in the Arbuckle mountains so it has VERY steep inclines. T finished in 33 minutes and L walked about half but still finished in 41. We don't really run any more since we don't have sidewalks in the country. Most of our cardio comes from HIIT videos so I was pretty proud that they did so well, especially with the high humidity and the fact that they were exhausted. The 5k was about half way thru camp. I think the fact that it was so hot and they were so tired really effected how sick T got. The day after he came home he had a 103.4 fever that was rather difficult to break which was a little scary. After we did get it under control, he has not had a fever since. He feels a lot better, but has the crazy COVID fatigue. He went outside to shoot some baskets for about 20 minutes yesterday and then came in and took a nap for two hours. T rarely complains about anything, but has been complaining about how tired he feels so I know it has to be bad. Basketball practice starts back on July 11 so hopefully he makes a full recovery before then or he is going to die.
Taking the time to put chicken wire snuggly around my garden has really helped. Unfortunately, the one baby bunny is still in it and won't leave, but he has left my food alone so far. I have a lot of cantaloupe and zucchini.

I now also get tomatoes! The rabbits had been the only ones to eat any.

Ok. The zucchini is out of control. I have 3 gallons shredded in the freezer, plus all of this, plus what is on the counter, plus what is growing. Basically, all day we eat cantaloupe and zucchini. I will say so far grilled zucchini is our favorite non baked zucchini. The zucchini chocolate cake is our favorite baked zucchini.  We are getting tons of fiber!

L made this for the Fourth. She is such a great baker!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
