The Bunch Wait For Rain 🌧️

So close, but of course it went around us.

It seems that our house is in some weird bubble that rain just goes around. I can see dark clouds forming. I can smell rain. I can even see it pouring not more than a quarter of a mile from our house, but it NEVER actually rains at our house! It just goes right around us. We are in dire need of rain. The last 3 years I have watered my yard all day long pretty much everyday. As a result, we were FINALLY getting the beginnings of a lush front lawn. However, since my water is run from a well the problem with watering all day long everyday is that it was burning through my well pump. We have replaced our pump TWICE since we moved in 6 years ago and it costs a few thousand dollars each time. Therefore, this year I decided I would stop trying to have a city front yard. I would admit I live in the country and have a country yard. So of course, this is the year of insanely hot and dry weather. I have been watering my trees and the area around the house (no dry foundation for us!), but for the most part, the yard has NOT been watered and it shows. The grass is beyond repair, but so is almost everyone's yard. I have huge cracks that might break my dog's leg if she tries running in the backyard. Every time I have to watch our shot at rain go around us, it hurts. The lack of rain is also causing hay to be hard to find and what you can get is not very good. I am not sure what we will do for winter for the horses, but hopefully we will figure it out soon. Unless it rains a few times soon, winter hay will be VERY hard to come by.

This week I took L out to celebrate making AB honor roll last year. We went shopping at Bath and Body Works and out to eat at the new cafe that D, A, and I ate at a couple of weeks ago. It was really good and L loved it.

She really liked our local cafe.

She got a few things at Ross too.

L made a chocolate zucchini cake to take to my parents to go with lunch.

She does so good with making things look pretty. I just slap frosting on and call it good 😂

D and I's project this summer was to dismantle the play set that was built into our deck. It took about 40 hours to do it and we still have a couple left, but it is almost completely down. The rabbits that live under the deck are not at all sure what to think. I am sure it is a lot brighter under there. The also do not like the loud sounds we made while taking it down. We worked about 2 hours a day before it would get too hot. It felt neverending. Now, we plan to repurpose the wood to build a retaining wall and fences around my trees so the horses stop eating them.

It took FOREVER to dismantle!

A gets her stitches out on Tuesday afternoon and she cannot wait. It has healed nicely, but I still can't get over how much they had to take out. She has not heard back from the vet clinic yet about whether they will hire her, but hopefully she will hear something soon.

She is really bored. She hasn't been allowed to exercise or sweat since she started her shoulder stuff last month. She can only pretty much sit inside so she is really ready for Tuesday when her stitches come out.

T is loving playing basketball again and is adjusting to playing with more sturdy players. He had to hold back a little with his other team. He still doesn't lose the tip off! The boy has a crazy high vertical jump and crazy long ape arms.

First Time Flippers had a house from our town on it!

So of course, we drove around town until we found it and took pictures. Yep, we're stalkers. Or it least it felt like it.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though...
