The Bunch Make Basketball Tournament Reservations and Christmas Plans

L was excited she could finally do elevated splits.

Pre-pandemic we had started an annual tradition of going to Branson,MO the week before Thanksgiving. Branson is one of our favorite places to go and the week before Thanksgiving is a great time to kick off the Christmas season there. The whole town is decorated, and it is not very busy yet. We would meet my parents there and have a week of family filled fun. It has now been almost three years since we have been and interestingly enough T's national basketball tournament is held in Springfield, MO every year, which is pretty much the next town over. Unfortunately, it is in March not during Christmas time, but we still are looking forward to seeing the area while we are there, around the basketball schedule of course. I have wanted to go to the aquarium in Springfield for what seems like forever so I am really excited to get the chance to this spring. We aren't sure if A will be able to go with us, but hopefully she is able to. I know she would be bummed to miss Branson, even if it meant she had to attend a basketball tournament. The tournaments are just crazy, loud, and have so many people. The only one who looks forward to them is T. We also have our state tournament in Round Rock. This week I was busy making reservations in February for Round Rock and for March in Springfield at the local KOAs. I will say that 6 days in MO was  half as much as only 4 days in Austin, which I thought was weird, but I guess more people head to Austin during winter than to Springfield so the rates are just higher. I am just excited to get to take the rv out. I love exploring new areas with everyone.

He has worked so hard this past year learning to dunk.

He has finally done it!! On a 10 ft goal, both here and at practice ( his coach was quick to tell me about it when I picked T up from practice).  He hasn't mastered doing it everytime he tries yet, but at least every now and again he is doing it.

We also have started making holiday plans. Thanksgiving is pretty low key here. C and H go to her grandparents house and the kids and  I watch the parade and dog show. This year D took off that week from work so we will probably drive out to see his parents also sometime that week. This year my mom has decided she doesn't want to do her normal Christmas day gathering, which is understandable now that she is getting older. Instead, she wanted to draw names and do a more low key Christmas, but she wants to do it the week before and for a dinner. My Dad is now almost 80 and uses a cane to get around most days and my mom confided in me yesterday that she thinks his driving days are coming to an end soon. Of course my mother is blind in one eye so she might not be the best person to decide he can't drive anymore. I figure with in the next five years we will probably move them to a senior living apartment. I think they would really enjoy having all the activities to do. They are pretty social people. I would feel better knowing they had people around to drive them places or be nearby if they fell. Overall, they are in great health so hopefully, they will continue to be able to live independently for a little while longer.

L is still wearing her cast. She bought a paint pen so everyone could sign it. Since it isn't a traditional cast, it is a lot harder to sign since you have to work around the plastic pieces. She heads back to the Orthopedic this week to get a CT. Hopefully, that will give us a better idea of how much longer she needs to wear it.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
