The Bunch Have A Basketball Filled Week

The Champs

After last week's basketball craziness, I had been looking forward to a slower week this week, but unfortunately it did not happen. Instead of two practices and one game this week, our coach had an opportunity to enter our freshman team into a junior varsity tournament last minute. Another team had to drop out and there was an opening. Not only would we be playing up, but also this tournament was only one day meaning you played three games pretty much back to back. Tournaments like these I hate because it isn't based on a team's skills. Basically, the winner is just whose team has the most athletic endurance to play at such a high level for such an extended period of time. An added bonus was that we also had a game the night before AND would have to wake up by 4:30am to leave the house by 6:00am, in order to drive the TWO hours there. Hats off to our boys though. We struggled probably a little more than we normally do, but they pulled energy from somewhere and not only played all four games, but won first place at the tournament. This included beating our own jv team! I would hate to be at practice today with the JV coach after his team lost to freshman players! I feel there will be a lot of running in their future.

We also had tickets to go see the NBA G league Texas Legends in Frisco. Apparently, the G league is the NBA minor league. I had no idea before we were given tickets that there was such a thing. We took C, T, and one of T's friends and had such a fun time! The boys even got to meet the players after the game and get pictures and autographs. It was the highlight for them. T even wants to print the picture out to hang in his room.

When we first arrived, there was a crazy amount of people. It turns out most of them were going to see the Dallas Stars game that was in the same building at the same time.

There was a lot less people in our stadium, though it was still busier than D had thought it would be.

Our tickets were almost on the floor, which would have been super cool if we hadn't been behind everyone. Free is free though I guess. A even saw us on TV since we were right by the goal.

The boys had a blast. My dad was suppose to come and it was an all boys day, but didn't feel up to it and I was super glad he decided that because it would have been really hard to navigate with him. There were so many stairs.

T's favorite pic! He said he felt the guy straighten up to take the pic!😂 This was the nicest guy. I saw him stop on his way in at half time to give kids autographs and high fives.

He was sitting on a stool. He was  nice too, but didn't seem as happy to be there as the other one was.

This week is just suppose to be two practices. I REALLY hope it stays that way. We need a little break from all the running around!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
