The Bunch Have A Wonderfully Quiet Week

Yep, the blue headed lion is back! At least now she is only chewing up her  feet🐾 However, it still drives us CRAZY, just slightly less crazy than it was.

Ahhhh. What a difference a week makes! This week there were no basketball games and only two practices. In fact, the kids and I didn't even leave the house for three days! We just enjoyed a nice relaxing pace and a lot of quiet time. We got caught up on school that we had not been able to finish last week due to the craziness of basketball and T even started reading the Lord of the Ring.

I decided that since our youngest chickens are now three years old and the rest are 6 years old and since as they age egg output declines, plus with eggs prices being so high that it just makes sense for us to get more chicks. I had hoped to get them this weekend so that by June they would be laying, but apparently this year no one has chicks yet so I guess we will get more in February and get more eggs by July. The kids were sad. They had been picking out names on the way to the farm store. This was the first year since we got chickens that for over two months we had NO EGGS this winter. I was shocked at having to spend $7 for a dz eggs! Thank goodness they are starting to lay again now because spending $50 a month for eggs is ridiculous. It is so much cheaper to just buy feed.

Noelle literally slept in this tiny box for hours. Our cat is so weird.

This next week shouldn't be too bad. We have two games and only one practice. However, the week after that is a THREE day tournament in Mansfield, which is not close to us. Last year we had a game that ended at 9 pm, we made it home around 10:45pm, and then had to be up and ready by 6:00am, in order to be at the first game by 7:30am. It was rough and I really hope that doesn't happen ths year! T's team is having a great season though and have only lost 5 games. Two of the five we played up against JV teams and one of those was the game where the refs were just so bias it wasn't even funny. In fact, that team is one of our games for this week and I am just sending D to take him because I can't deal with that again. It was infuriating! The other two we just straight up had a bad night and deserved to lose.

L has been getting ideas of what she would like to go to college/trade school to do and Texas has a great website to help kids understand what certain jobs make and how much your standard of living costs. The website is called (funnily enough) texasrealitycheck.com. Before she took these quizzes, everything was "that sounds boring" or " that's not what I want to do". She was only thinking of the work NOT how much earning potential the job had. This website made her more aware of the cost of living and has her at least entertaining ideas that she might not love, but could tolerate enough to make a living doing. After initially saying that she would never be a nurse, we have now narrowed down the field to , of course, nurse and also graphic designer. 🤷

L has been working on getting her middle as splits for years and FINALLY did it this week! She was so excited.

This week was the first time L has wanted to do Aerial since "the incident". I did notice she was WAY lower than she normally is. I don't blame her for being a little nervous.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
