The Bunch Take T To The Orthopedic

He was devastated by what the doctor told him!

It has been quite the crazy week here. First off, we did go see the new Avatar movie again. It was just to fun to see in 3D and we really wanted to experience it one more time before it leaves theaters and, bonus, Cinemark has discount Tuesdays for those of you who weren't aware.

Most of the rest of the week we dealt with health issues. No, none of us are actually sick. However, D started having unexplained nose bleeds. It is not a regular nose bleed, but a crazy blood just draining out nose bleed. This happened about every other day for a week randomly. Yes, he has a doctor's appointment this week. We checked his blood pressure and it was 179/117!! Luckily, he had some blood pressure medicine he had stopped taking last year and he started taking that again and right now he has lowered it to an average of 149/94, which while not great it has at least been enough to stop the crazy nose bleeds.

T also had to go to the Orthopedic. Apparently, a couple of months ago, he rolled his ankle and had been dealing with reoccurring pain after games and practices. He had never mentioned this to us until after the last game. We went to the Orthopedic this weekend and T learned something that just DEVASTATED him! The doctor told him his growth plates are 90% closed and he'll probably only grow another 1-2".   T was very upset by this. He really wanted to be 6'8".  😂 As for the actual issue, when he rolled his ankle all that time ago, he actually sprained his ankle and he had been irritating his growth plate since then. The doctor said in a perfect world he would have no activity for 3 weeks to give it time to heal. However, over the next three weeks we have district and state tournaments so he is only going to rest half the time and then play in his brace. Unless it gets worse, he'll play the last 6 weeks of the season and then have a true few weeks of rest. We'll see how the tournaments this week go.

T dunking the ball. One of the other parents kids took this picture. It looks so cool!

Mom and Dad came out to watch T. We finally had a close day game so they could come. My dad no longer drives after dark.

I have no idea how he managed to get his plane stuck on the fan!

Not to be outdone by L getting her middle splits, T showed off his right splits, which are apparently a hit in Australia since the Australian team we played recorded it.😂

L has started driving by herself to do her activities at church. It is really nice not having to worry about getting her to all her meetings. She sings in the choir on Feb 5 and is still deciding on her plans for next year. A is on track to graduate in December with her Veterinary Technician degree. She is really excited about NOT having school to do all the time.

I will keep everyone updated on the doctor appointments this week. Have a great week!

Noelle is very good at helping A with her  school work.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
