The Bunch Recover From A Very Long Week

That's not fog. That is how dusty it was at 3 pm in the afternoon on the high wind day that came from the West. We have a nice coating of red West Texas dust on EVERYTHING. I even had to change the water in the horse trough because there was so much dust in there it just looked muddy! So gross!!!

Well, it's finally over! D's crazy week and a half that had more than 43 hours of over time is through! D is tired from everything he had to do and I am exhausted from holding the fort down. The weather has been beautiful, but a little crazy! We have had two days of high winds, like crazy high winds. Basically, one day for about 12 hours the winds stayed at around 37 mph with guests around 65 mph. The second high wind day was a little better with winds sustained at about 27 mph and gusts about 45 mph. However , even though we didn't have any damage from the higher wind event, we did have some damage from the second event. Most likely because it came from the southwest. We always have crazy wind from the north so everything outside is fortified from winds from the north, but not so much from the south. It ended up blowing down some fencing that protects the tree from the horses, my fencing around the grapes/Murdoch, and weirdly enough it pulled the well house door off its hinges, even though the door was closed at the time. It was really weird and I am still trying to figure that one out. It pushed the door over so far that I almost couldn't pry it open. Since we keep the horse and chicken feed in there, I need in it at least twice a day. We have planted our onions and are prepping the bigger garden to be ready to plant next month. I think I lost one of my pear trees this winter so I will need to get another one. My tree that produced so many pears last year, but unfortunately lost most of them to storms/tornado, has tons of blooms, but since the other tree shows no signs of life I am not sure if it will be cross pollinated. There is another pear tree at the end of the street, but that's pretty far away. I hope it produces this year. It had the best pears, at least the 5 that made it were excellent.😂

T and I took A to take her national exam on Tuesday and, as expected, she passed with flying colors!!! Now, she just has to take the state exam, which is no big deal. We celebrated by getting snow cones from Bahama Bucks afterwards. She wanted to go there because we were by our old house and when she was younger she loved going there for a special treat. She even went old school and got her old time favorite bubble gum flavor. Afterwards, we wandered around Trader Joe's for a bit since there is one right by our old house. A is happy to have the big exam done. She is just enjoying NOT having to study every spare second. She should be registered to take the state test next week and then she is fully licensed in Texas and any other state that doesn't have a state test, which is like 13 states I believe.

T is doing great! He has a campout this weekend with his troop, which he loves. We have super enjoyed not doing basketball stuff this season. We have had so much more time to do other things, though I did miss going to Missouri for Nationals. However, basketball always got in the way of those trips.😂 I can't believe T only has one more year of school! We can't wait to finish, though it will be weird for a bit when all the kids are busy living their lives. T plans to go to the school close by to be licensed as a paramedic/firefighter.

C is doing well. His new meds have been working better. He has had less "episodes" overall, but did have a pretty big one last week that he said had the worst chest pain he has ever had. His ablation is scheduled for next week, but because his white blood count was so high, he has to get another blood draw right before the surgery and if it's still high then obviously they will have to reschedule. We are hopeful he can get the procedure done on time and then start the process of starting to live a more normal life. It's been hard on him these past few months trying to get things figured out. He's ready, as we all are for him, to be able to leave the house without the fear of having an episode. He wants to feel better and not nauseous, dizzy, and tired most of the time. I am sure it's hard on H too since she has to be responsible for most of the things around the house now, making sure C is ok, and driving him to his appointments.

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate Christmas

It's become tradition for T to wear a Santa hat on Christmas. Our Christmas was pretty low key. D was able to go in late so he was able to have Christmas with us before he went to work which was really nice. The kids and I packed up and moved Christmas brunch to C&H's house since he needs to stay close to home and we worried about the lack of emergency care both on the way to our house and while here. I made up a potato casserole ahead of time, brought stuff for garden scrambled eggs, and banana bread while H made a really good cranberry punch and some pigs in a blanket. I have to say for only 5 people we had a ton of food! In fact, T ate so much for brunch I don't think he really ate anything for the rest of the day. He also finished his very last hour of driving on his way back home! Driver's license here we come....next week! After the mess Axl made last time we left him in his crate, we reenforced the doors with zip ties. We also made sure to take him on a wal...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...
