The Bunch Take T To Prom

My handsome boys!💗

It was FINALLY T's turn to experience the magic of prom. It was so great when the girls went I was really hoping that T's would be be just as neat. At first, I thought he wouldn't want to go, but then at almost the last minute he decided he wanted to. Some of his old basketball friends were going so he thought it would be fun. Every parent is required to have a certain number of volunteer hours per ticket that they purchase since I spent several hours making tea and souvenirs for the girls tickets this time it was D's turn. He volunteered to be on the security detail on the night of prom so as a bonus I didn't even have to go, which worked out well since I literally stayed up ALL night long the night before with Axl so the boys could get some good sleep before prom. I discovered I am way too old now to pull an all nighter. It was rough! After the boys left around 1 pm to head to prom I fell asleep on the couch for about 3 hours.  They had to be there by  2:45 pm and left at about 12:30 am. I asked T to take pics of what it was like. The theme was the best of the past 25 years so his prom had a little of everything. He even had some of the Narnia things that were at the girls prom, including an actress they hired to be the white witch. He also had a Robin Hood, Back to the Future (Delorian included), Wild West, and several more. During dinner they had aerialists performing on the silks. T said dinner was pretty good. He really liked his chicken and potatoes, but said the green beans were weird and rubbery. A asked if was asparagus because apparently she had asparagus and had the same thoughts about it. T informed her that he was able to tell the difference between a green bean and asparagus.😂 T apparently had a fantastic time dancing and showing his skills off. Apparently, a circle formed around him to watch him do the worm, jump splits, and straddle jumps. He loves showing off! And yes, he was EXTREMELY sore the next day. I was worried at first about him ripping his pants, but not only did that not happen, but I remembered he chose the $8 thrift store suit he found over the $200 one that I bought so who cared. I got my $8 worth. D had to wear all black for the security detail. We called it his waiter/mob boss outfit. I hated the coat, but it was $5 and it had to be super big to conceal his gun he carried. However, the pants after I took them in and the shirt were nice. D got a Jason's Deli croissant sandwich for dinner. He only passed T once all night. There were about 900 kids there. The second night was expecting 1400 kids!

I waited impatiently Saturday for A to get home from work so T could tell us everything about prom. We learned a long time ago that he excitedly explains everything ONCE and whoever didn't hear it is out of luck. A really wanted hear about his experience so I had to wait and it was HARD! This is where I learned that to T "take a lot of pics" means SIX! And every single one of them managed to cut out any of the decorations! The girls took about 150 pics of EVERYTHING. I really got to see what their experience was like. I am hoping when the pics that the prom committee took come in that they'll have some good ones. However, the main thing was he had an absolute blast and made wonderful memories. D managed to get through the evening and also learned that he's also too old to pull an all nighter!

He looked a little mob bossy in the too big coat, but hey $5 for one night, it did just fine.

One of the pictures T took, please note there is NO decorations. He was excited his friend from Scouts just happened to be there.

Again somehow managed not to get a glimpse of anything in the background

The only pic he ALMOST got of the prom theme was dessert.

D and I went to visit his Aunt one afternoon,

We had a lovely visit and enjoyed a yummy lunch at El Fenix.

I had thought all the El Fenix's closed, but this one was most definitely open and just as yummy as we remembered! Afterwards, we went to Trader Joe's since it is so close to her apartment. It was a great day! We even managed to miss most of rush hour ( which we all know lasts way more than an hour) on the way home.

T and his friends with the Back to The Future Car

I think the Wild West was their favorite.

T took two pictures here.

This makes me want to go to Universal to see Super Mario World.

The white witch is a real live person!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate T's 16th Birthday

Three Birthdays in 10 days I cannot believe the baby of the family is 16! Actually, I can't believe they are all as old as they are. C will be 31 this year, A turns 21 tomorrow, L is 18, and little baby T is 16! It has been a wonderful ride and I was very blessed to be able to spend 24/7 with my kids while they were little. I have wonderful memories of all the times we shared. While the last year has been the hardest of our lives, it's been nice to see us all rally together and we have become even more appreciative of each other. T will just randomly stop to hug us and tell us he loves us.🥰 A is so very helpful and thoughtful and C is great about calling and keeping us updated on how they're doing way out in Bonham. I love my kids! We have decided to give pickleball a try as a family. Considering we've never even watched a game, our first lesson should be interesting!  He has gotten so good at guitar! My parents celebrate our birthdays every year by treating us to di...
