The Bunch Celebrate Easter

I was so tired, but egg hunting is just so fun! I see why the kids love it. T won AGAIN. I came in second. Poor A. It wasn't even close.

This year is just flying by! It feels like we just celebrated Easter and here it is already again. The hens have been laying really well so we had plenty of eggs for Easter. We prefer to use food dye to color the eggs as opposed to the egg dye kits with the tablets. We think it just makes more vibrant colored eggs. The kids and I dyed eggs together on Saturday. A let me know she wasn't drawing on them this year because it makes her sad when we destroy her drawing and eat the egg. Fair enough. I thought T didn't want to either, but when he realized I drew on my eggs without him he got upset and said we were supposed to do that together. He literally drew on his eggs as I was shelling them.😂Dually noted, I will make sure to inform him next year when it's time for egg drawing. My kids love tradition so any deviation is usually not well received.

I went with A to Dallas to go see Mean Girls at the Winspear Opera house. I mean I was her car navigation person. We pretty much always have a near death experience on the way down there. I hate the way there is no warning whatsoever of lanes becoming exit only lanes and how people drive so (I want to say stupidly) aggressively. The way home is a lot better with transitions, but getting there is horrible. We definitely prefer navigating Ft Worth. It's just set up a lot better.  T ended up having to stay home with Axl because it "might" rain so while A went to her show I was left to wander aimlessly downtown. Ok. I don't really wander. I get free tickets to the Dallas Museum of Art and explore a little while I wait. It's nice to just have a fairly comfortable, safe place to wait for her. There isn't as much to do while we wait in Dallas, at least in Ft Worth we can usually watch a movie while she's at her show plus in Ft Worth it's a lot easier for her to get autographs on her playbill. Apparently, I had never checked out the European paintings on the third floor so I looked at those for about an hour and then relaxed in a comfortable chair and played my game. I also put in an order for pizza at Leila's to bring back for dinner. If you are ever in the Arts District I really highly recommend this place.  It is the best pizza we've ever had. In fact, Everytime we're there and it's open we make it a point to pick up pizza. The flavor combinations are fantastic. It's not just your basic pizza toppings.

We had to contend with tornadoes again on the night before Easter. Fortunately, they passed to the West of us. We still had a lot of thunder, lightning, high wind, and heavy rains though. Which just means that Axl wouldn't sleep. It was pretty loud and scary sounding this time though so I am slightly more tolerant of his crazy behavior. I just wish it was a one and done storm, but nope. It came through in waves so we just got very sporadic, intermittent sleep. I was so tired on Easter, I actually took a nap AND was in bed asleep at 6pm. Basically, I only got up to make Easter dinner and then went back to bed. I feel great now though!

C is recovering nicely from his two heart surgeries. He has been cleared for mostly normal activity except he cannot raise his hands above his head or do any lifting. The Dr said his pacemaker is kicking in about 10% of the time and if it stays at that rate his batteries should last approximately 8 years. He is sounding pretty upbeat and has started venturing out a little bit so I think he's feeling a lot better.

In a couple of weeks, we are celebrating A graduating, by taking a trip to the zoo. She has been asking to go to the Dallas Zoo for what seems like forever, so that's what we're going to do, have a fun filled family zoo day. I am looking forward to it also. I love zoo days!

Because of D's crazy training schedule and the bad weather, we haven't been able to have our weekly pickleball matches. Hopefully, we can resume that next week because we all have a great time going. The now traditional frozen yogurt afterwards is just a bonus.

Have a Fantastic Week!

We dyed eggs on the island since the weather was bad.

I still enjoy drawing on the eggs. It's kind of relaxing.

T's eggs he did last minute.

They mostly got healthy snacks like protein shakes and bars. A also got a new pair of headband headphones and a book.

T got mostly protein snacks too and a portable guitar holder because I am tired of seeing it on the floor at church, and a Bluetooth speaker, which is actually crazy good.

He loves his energy drinks and York patties. Our basket wasn't quite as healthy as the kids. 😂

Maisy is so helpful. I can't believe how old she looks now.😢

T likes to make sure that no egg was left behind.

We couldn't take our selfie in front of the marque here because it's inside and I didn't have a ticket so we took one in front of the entrance.

She tries to dress like whatever she's seeing.

Some of the European paintings I looked at, which if you get too close an audible warning will play telling you that you are too close😁

I took T to get a haircut. The lady who cut it was about 106 and asked T if he spelled his name with a C or a K. Needless to say that put us on edge about her ability to cut his hair, but thankfully it turned out well even if it took forever. He has a couple of big events coming up so we really didn't want a bad haircut.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate T's 16th Birthday

Three Birthdays in 10 days I cannot believe the baby of the family is 16! Actually, I can't believe they are all as old as they are. C will be 31 this year, A turns 21 tomorrow, L is 18, and little baby T is 16! It has been a wonderful ride and I was very blessed to be able to spend 24/7 with my kids while they were little. I have wonderful memories of all the times we shared. While the last year has been the hardest of our lives, it's been nice to see us all rally together and we have become even more appreciative of each other. T will just randomly stop to hug us and tell us he loves us.🥰 A is so very helpful and thoughtful and C is great about calling and keeping us updated on how they're doing way out in Bonham. I love my kids! We have decided to give pickleball a try as a family. Considering we've never even watched a game, our first lesson should be interesting!  He has gotten so good at guitar! My parents celebrate our birthdays every year by treating us to di...
