The fact that BOTH T and Axl can fit in this bed should tell you how gigantic it is!
A must have been in a family fun mood this Christmas because she got each of us new board games to play and for 2 of them you have to have 4 players. We spent the first part of the week relaxing and enjoying our game time. The crazy cold snap happened to be on our normal pickleball day so we decided to do game day instead. We played the game that T got first. It's called Don't Say Ummm. This is like a cross between charades and 20 questions. Basically, your teammate draws 2 cards, one is an adjective and one is a noun. You have to get your partner to say both together before you can get a point, but if you say Ummm or anyother filler words the other team gets a point. There are other rules but that's the jist. This was our least favorite game. We all are more independent competitive players and relying on partners tended to cause tensions about partners not getting descriptions correct. The next game we played was called Ticket to Ride. This was the one A got for me. Initially, it was hard to understand, but once we started it was fun. It's a cross between Monopoly and Sorry. You have to build train routes and collect cards. This was our second favorite game. Hands down our most favorite game was the one D got and it's called Catan. Apparently it's been around for about 25 years, we just never heard of it. After we You Tubed how to play, we got started. It seems crazy complicated, but it's not. I can't even tell you games it's similar to because it's just so unique. We had such a blast playing it that it's the only one we've already played again and probably will play pretty regularly. I will say that each game is about 60-90 minutes so it's pretty lengthy, but it's so fun that time goes by pretty fast.

This is Ticket to Ride. I was yellow....I won.😁

This is Catan. I know it looks like something crazy, but it's really fun!
The second half of the week D went back to work and I got started on my first project for this year. I used our new power washer to clean the deck. I cannot describe to you how awesome the power washer is! It took two whole days to clean our deck off, but WOW! The wood looks almost new! After I finished getting the wood cleaned off, I started staining it. My parents had 50 gallons of deck stain leftover from when they did their fence so we have plenty. The staining process is going to be a lot slower and way messier than the cleaning process. It has taken me about 3.5 hours so far to just start the first coat on bench and we still have over 400 sq feet to go, though I am praying the straight pieces go a lot faster. I have to be a contortionist to get the nooks and crannies in the benches and tables. My back is definitely feeling it! D is going to help me finish this weekend. Working together for two days straight, I think we can get it finished before the rain moves in. I will let you know next week how we fared.

It's going to look so much better when we're done, but oh my goodness the benches are tedious and will need 2 coats.😭

Yay!! My free loaders are starting to lay again! Nothing irritates me more than having 16 hens and having to BUY eggs from Sam's.
|
Ok, the stupid rooster randomly attacking me and only me for some stupid reason does irritate me more. He actually got his spur pretty deep this time. Usually he just flies into me, but I kicked him this time causing him to get his spur higher. Lesson learned. I will just let him fly into me instead so I don't bleed.
