The Bunch Celebrate Easter

We had a great time!

This week was very interesting. Since we were unexpectedly down to one car, we have had to adjust our schedule a bit. Mostly meaning that T can't go to his extracurricular activities unless A is home to take him and I can't run errands for the same reason. Since A has a Ford Spark, it is SLIGHTLY bigger than D's little 3 cylinder (I thought the salesman was kidding when said that) mirage, her car is the new family car. Seriously, it can not only hold the four of us (barely), but can actually accommodate all our groceries on a regular trip to the store. In fact, before the Tom Thumb in town opened, she use to pick up our grocery order on her way home from work since there was a Tom Thumb on her way home. It's been months since she had to do that, but she did it this week and I had a pretty big order. We also had made plans to visit C in Bonham. T's girlfriend was playing softball there so we thought it would be fun to grab dinner with them and go watch her play. Because T is so tall, he has a hard time fitting in the back of A's car so he rides in the front to have more head and leg room. That means for the entire hour and a half EACH WAY, D and I were stuffed into the back seat. While I am happy A has a car she can fit us all in if we need to, it was VERY uncomfortable so the next day we decided to just find something to make do with. D actually found a really good deal on a BMW X5 so we drove all the way to Arlington to take a look. The car had all the bells and whistles. In fact, it was so smart it told us that 1.) the engine was malfunctioning, 2.) the front tire was low, 3.) the left blinker wasn't working and 4.) the wiper fluid was out (whether from a crack or just low we didn't know.). Needless to say that was a hard pass. We almost came home, but then saw a similar car we decided to look at. It was only the X3 so some of the extras were missing, but it was in really good shape, had a roomie interior, and drove wonderfully! We were happy and the price was decent so we went ahead and bought it. We plan to have some preventative maintenance done to it in the next month, but so far we're very happy. I am making the kids practice driving with me for a bit before setting them free because it is very different than the Volvo. We are still dealing with insurance on that, but hopefully that will get resolved this week. I will miss my butt warmers though! I also wasn't crazy about the fact it took premium gas, but the Navigator took premium too and we had almost no problems with it for 15 years.

It's was like we were the kids stuck in the backseat! 😂

D played the kid part up....it was quite uncomfortable though.

A decided that softball was boring. LOL!

It's always fun when we get hang out together ❤️

T's girlfriend plays catcher.

Our new car....sans butt warmer.😭

I like it. I will just miss my extra features

This year Easter was a little different. The kids decided that they didn't want our traditional ham. They wanted burgers instead. Since it was a little hard to find my spiral cut ham this year for some reason, I was okay with that. I asked them if they still wanted to dye eggs and T quickly said yes. A ultimately decided she wanted to also. I was doing it whether they were or not! 😂 I find it relaxing and enjoy spending a few minutes enjoying the holiday. They definitely don't make the elaborate eggs of their youth. T usually does one super involved egg and A just dyes them. I do combo of just dying them and simple pictures. I participated in the egg hunt again this year. It is so much fun! I think they should have adult egg hunts. Maybe charge a few dollars per participant and a bar or restaurant could have an adult egg hunt with a prize being a free appetizer or soda or something. I think that could be a lot of fun and a way to advertise. Since A has gotten last place in the hunt pretty much her whole life, she took it up a notch this year and even put on her running shoes! Unfortunately, she still lost! Poor girl! I thought she did it this year finally, but I actually had one more egg than she did. 😂 T, per usual, beat us easily. Is there nothing that boy isn't good at??? We were laughing, yelling, and having so much fun that Axl, who was in the backyard while we were in the front, started barking at us in concern about what weird phenomenon was going on. Afterwards we had our traditional egg gravy breakfast and headed to church. We watched Hop after church and had a great afternoon. It was a good day! I hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter too!🐇🐣🐰

The egg hunt was on!

A was really trying....she came so close this year.

T is all business.

I actually beat him to that egg! It felt great.

Unwrapping his haul.

A just stuck to plain dyed eggs. It was nice she wanted to participate in what T and I were doing.

I dyed my eggs and drew some simple pictures.

T did a little of everything and his intricate design was the eyeball.

I think it's really interesting 🤔

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...
