The Bunch Are Already Off To A Busy Summer

My Grandbaby Blob from the latest appointment.🥰

Two months ago we were blissfully unaware how this summer would start. This down hill slide all started when T totaled the Volvo, then the SUV had engine issues, and this week the transmission went out in D's little commuter car. Basically, we went from 3 cars to no cars in a span of about 2 months. Thank goodness we found the BMW a lot faster than I thought we would find something and so far I haven't missed the seat warmers as much as I thought I would 😂. Maybe in December I will. Surprisingly, what I miss most is the blind spot sensors. I didn't realize how much I actually used them to double check myself. I do love that the wipers can be set to auto and speed up or stop depending on how much precipitation it senses. I also LOVE how the interior of the car is low lit at night so I can always see into every corner/cubby, but not blind everyone. Overall, we love it. It's a little peppy I think for T, but it is what it is. Since it is now our only vehicle, we did decide to go ahead and fix the SUV. I really hope that doesn't bite us in the booty later. Fortunately, D has a friend, who has a 2012 Honda Civic, that he has lent us for the time being until we figure stuff out. It actually worked out well. He has a company car so he was just having to try and drive the civic occasionally to keep it up and running. We may make an offer to him on it. I don't know yet. As for D's little commuter car, I wish it would have lasted these next 2 years, but you will get no complaints from me on it. We paid cash for that car 7 years ago and other than maintenance it had no issues and was crazy cheap to fill with gas and got almost 40 mpg. I was very happy with it. It did exactly what we wanted which was get D back and forth to work. It was very reliable until this week when T took it to go play basketball.🤔 This is the second car that has died on his way to play basketball. The Volvo was wrecked. This time it just stranded him on the side of the highway, but is basically totaled out. We're going to have those cash for clunkers people come take it off our hands.

Our invites for T's graduation party went out this week, so family check your mailboxes! He also sent extra invites to various establishments to see if they will send him free stuff.🤦  So there is a possibility the Maverick's might show up for our cookout. Lol. I hope Cooper Flagg shows up. T has the very 1st issued rookie card ever made for him and if he would sign it... Wow! He also has one for Derek Lively, but not the very first one made. Also, after checking with T, C and H and going to do their gender reveal during our cookout! I can't wait!

T went to his informational meeting about becoming a EMT/firefighter. Basically, it's 2 semesters and he can pretty much go work anywhere with a starting salary between 85,000 and 120,000. My boy is going to make more than he will know what to do with! He's talking about moving to Arkansas in a year when his girlfriend goes to school at U of Arkansas so hopefully the certifications will transfer out of state. We have so much more to do for him to get in the program, but we are plugging away at the requirements. Everyone likes their paperwork.

My Dad is doing so well! I can't believe how quickly he's responding to his treatments. He only uses his cane around the house and half the time forgets it, which he regrets on the way back to his chair.😂 He has managed to use just the walker at his doctor's appts. We have a wheelchair in the car just in case, but so far he has been good. He has so much pep and color! It is really nice seeing him feeling so much better!

I was so busy getting things done this week that the only thing I took a picture of was inside cat watching outside cat.😸

Noelle is very interested in DC. (Deck Cat 😂)

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
