The Bunch Have Been Crazy Busy!

I can't believe he's almost here!

First off I am sorry I am a little behind in posting. First we had the craziness of getting ready for last week's party. Originally our Aunt C was going to be there and everyone was coming to see her, but unfortunately they ran into trouble on the way down here when their trailer brakes and lights suddenly went out. It took 4 days to get everything sorted out and back on the road so they weren't able to come and we decided to still go ahead with the cookout and turn it into a mini baby shower for C & H. Aunt C did make it a few days later and we spent a couple of days just enjoying having her and her husband here. It had been 7 years since we had seen her and it was really nice having her here. Immediately after Aunt C left, we had the official baby shower to get ready for.

We had such a great time visiting with them!

Unfortunately, D had to work so he only had about 30 minutes each night to visit.

A has been waiting to see Aunt C for a long time.

T even was able to visit for a bit before school.

The official shower was held out in Telephone, which I learned ironically has no cell service. We all planned on going, but because the vet was coming out to check up on Gwenie, T stayed behind to wait for him. The rest of us had leave by 9am because it takes about 2 hours to get there and we needed to help set up everything before the party started at 1pm. It mostly went off great. The only horrible thing that happened was I burned the bottoms of the sliders. Luckily, I had back up sliders on brioche buns, but H had really wanted them on the Hawaiian rolls. Everything else was great though and we ended up with so many leftovers it didn't matter that we were missing some sliders. C and H received so many cute things for baby Wesley! He doesn't need anymore blankets! Almost everyone brought a blanket and diapers with their stuff. They were very blessed with everything they received. The shower was girls only so D, C, and H's dad went off to eat lunch and hangout until it was over. It was a long but good day.

It was at the community center.

It had a full kitchen which was nice.

H pretty much planned it exactly as she wanted it.

The balloons would randomly pop and pretty much give you a heart attack! It was very pretty though.

The boys had fun eating Mexican food and going shooting.

There was like 2 dz cupcakes leftover. 30 women really didn't eat very much.

H unwrapped her gifts.

H surprised A with an Auntie T shirt.

We had a huge spread....I still wished the sliders hadn't burned.

T handled the vet visit well. The vet gave Gwenie another antibiotic shot and actually wrapped up both her back feet this time because she was showing bruising on her other one. T said she looked like a newborn deer trying to walk. 😂 She is getting around pretty good now. We plan to take off both bandages tomorrow afternoon so I guess we will see if she is really doing ok of not. We might need the vet to come out again to wrap her up and give her another shot. We're still not sure if she can come back from it. So far it looks promising, but the vet says donkeys always get the weird abscesses. All I know is they stink as the infection drains into the bandage and after festering for a week I am not looking forward to taking the bandage off!

She gets around pretty well now for both back legs being wrapped up.

The Bunch Say Goodbye

Aunt P picked a lovely cemetery. It was so beautiful and peaceful. For the past 8 years or so we have helped our Aunt P.  We have had numerous visits and conversations over the years, not to mention dinners and root beer floats. We have watched her physical health decline while her mental health was still sharp as tack. Sadly, the last month of her life she had started to have several moments where she didn't know what was going on. We had numerous conversations about her death with her and we are very happy in knowing that she finally has the relief she wanted. The past year in particular was VERY hard on her and she needed help more. D and I would visit almost every Wednesday and Saturday, plus whenever she called for help. It was nice to talk to her. She was witty, smart, knew the answer to just about anything, and did a wonderful job of making you feel special and loved. I once told her that I would really miss our chats when she was gone...I will. I really enjoyed getti...

The Bunch's Streak Of Bad Luck Continues

We made great time on the way there! It's amazing how leaving only 30 minutes later can help immensely with traffic. I wish all the shows started at 8 instead of 7:30.  What a week this was! We went to Bass Hall to see Back to the Future. It was ok. Definitely not the best play we have seen. The boys went with us and since the last two shows they joined us for were The Outsiders, which is one of, if not our most, favorite show ever, and A Christmas Story, which is in probably in the top 6, they were really not impressed. However, we still had a nice time doing something different together.  We love Bass Hall❤️ We had opening night tickets and got a GREAT deal! I went in this week and had my polyps removed plus they did a biopsy. I was more sore and for longer than I anticipated. Yes, the doctor said recovery was about 10 days, but I really only anticipated maybe 3-4. Boy, was I wrong! It's been 7 days now and by 10 I think I will be completely back to normal. Unfortunately, sh...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
