The Bunch Celebrate H's Birthday

My goofballs in the background ❤️

We got together this weekend at my mom's house to celebrate H's birthday. We see my parents often, but since C started having his heart issues he hasn't been able to go visit them and  he lives too far for my parents to go visit him. In fact, I question whether or not my house is too far for my parents to drive to  and C lives almost twice as far! It was really nice getting to see everyone. We did things simple. We got some pizza, some cake, and just spent our time visiting with each other. D, T, and I are going camping this week so we'll see C again soon. He is actually moving to a new house so we're going to help him move somethings. We don't want him over exerting himself. This trip we're going to work on Axl being left alone in the trailer. Well, without us. Maisy will still be there and we'll be only 10 minutes away helping C and will make trips back to check on them quite frequently.

With all the rain we have been getting, we have been working non-stop outside on nice days to get stuff done. The gardens are starting to be over taken by weeds and the grass is getting crazy tall, which is frustrating because Maisy won't stand in grass that's tall to go to the bathroom. She only likes freshly mowed grass. It's so annoying!

We're going to go camping a lot this summer, which is fine with me. T needs to spend 40 nights in a tent over the next year to earn some patch he wants. D and I enjoy the climate controlled rv while watching tv, and T roughs it next to us in his tent. He may regret starting this in the summer. Hopefully,we can go through July and it won't be too bad, then take off August and start camping again in late September.

A has been doing great. She only has to work on one Saturday every month now instead of two. She was the on call tech on Memorial Day and had to go in 3 separate times, but got $75 for each call. She has a lot more responsibilities so she doesn't usually get off exactly at 5pm anymore, but they have let her keep her part time schedule so she always has the next day off to recuperate.

All in all, this summer is off to a great start! We're going to start the fun jar next week. It's always the highlight of our summer, though A is super excited to see the Lion King at Fair Park this summer. We got really good seats. I only make everyone (the boys) go to 2 musicals a year. This year it's the Lion King and A Christmas Story ( three if you count Come from Away in January, but I bought those tickets last year).

We had a great time with everybody.

My parents . They get around so well for their age. I hope D and I are as mobile as they are when we are their age.

Happy Birthday H! Thank you for taking such great care of C this year.

We went off for a date day, which really just consisted of errands and lunch, but it was fun getting out by ourselves.

I didn't realize that D had never eaten at this Mexican place that the kids and I have eaten at multiple times in Gainesville. It is really good! It might be better than the Mexican restaurant by our house.

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate Christmas

It's become tradition for T to wear a Santa hat on Christmas. Our Christmas was pretty low key. D was able to go in late so he was able to have Christmas with us before he went to work which was really nice. The kids and I packed up and moved Christmas brunch to C&H's house since he needs to stay close to home and we worried about the lack of emergency care both on the way to our house and while here. I made up a potato casserole ahead of time, brought stuff for garden scrambled eggs, and banana bread while H made a really good cranberry punch and some pigs in a blanket. I have to say for only 5 people we had a ton of food! In fact, T ate so much for brunch I don't think he really ate anything for the rest of the day. He also finished his very last hour of driving on his way back home! Driver's license here we come....next week! After the mess Axl made last time we left him in his crate, we reenforced the doors with zip ties. We also made sure to take him on a wal...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...
