The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good.

T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the coffee on so it would be ready to go when I got up. I get up around 6:30 am every day. We're all early risers, but usually T gets up around 7:30am and A gets up shortly after that on her off days. We just relaxed in the morning after chores and walks, but in the afternoon I wanted to go to the movies. We saw Freakier Friday and LOVED IT! We were audibly laughing in the theater on multiple occasions. We really had a fun time. The plan was to head out for Mexican food afterwards, but a huge thunderstorm was brewing so we hauled ourselves home as fast as we could for being over 40 minutes away. Fortunately, we made it just before it started storming.  Axl was upset, but not too worked up yet so we could still give him his anxiety pills. We ended up going out to dinner the next night after A got home and it was so yummy!

Every time we go to the lake I bring my kick board and use it like a chair to sit on (who wants to touch the squishy sand??). T found a floaty chair that still let's me be in the water and got me that for my birthday. I can't wait to try it out! T says his friend has one he tried and he liked it so he thought I would like it too.🥰 A went rogue this year and did something completely unexpected she booked a wine tasting for D and I at a super nice vineyard on the lake. We had a wonderful time. D had been trying to give me my gift for the past two months. I am pretty strict on the give presents on your actual birthday. I like the day to be extra special and different. He gave me all the seasons of the show I was watching on DVD. I know that sounds kind of weird, but T and I had been watching our show together for about a year and Peacock suddenly announced it was leaving. Our only other option was to watch it on a platform that had ads. I hated the ads. There was about a billion of them it seemed and I had been complaining about the ads for about 2 months 😂. D fixed it! I forgot how quickly the show went by without ads every few minutes.

To celebrate all our birthdays my parents treated us to dinner. We picked Chili's. We could have gone anywhere, but we're simple and we all really like Chili's.

We had a nice time.

T uses the hat to get his hair to lay flat. He hates hats, but the future mullet is in the awkward stage.

The only one in our family not celebrating a birthday.

My buddy 💖

He is such a goofball.😂

We used the least Christmasy paper for birthdays. 😂We have so much Christmas paper.

I love my family 🥰

We had T's friend party this weekend too. His actual birthday is on a weekday so he celebrated with his friends on the weekend. We went to Slick City which is a cross between extreme sliding and a trampoline park. They had a blast and it was surprisingly empty during the time we picked. His actual birthday will be pretty low key since he already had his party.

One of the crazy slides

He played basketball for 3 hours BEFORE his party. He was already crazy sore.

He was excited to see his friends.

They have a trapezes too!

And the ever favorite bouncy basketball court.

He really enjoyed celebrating with his friends.

The pre sweaty smiling picture . They looked way different after a couple of hours of hard playing.😂

The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!! Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We h...

The Bunch Celebrate Christmas

It's become tradition for T to wear a Santa hat on Christmas. Our Christmas was pretty low key. D was able to go in late so he was able to have Christmas with us before he went to work which was really nice. The kids and I packed up and moved Christmas brunch to C&H's house since he needs to stay close to home and we worried about the lack of emergency care both on the way to our house and while here. I made up a potato casserole ahead of time, brought stuff for garden scrambled eggs, and banana bread while H made a really good cranberry punch and some pigs in a blanket. I have to say for only 5 people we had a ton of food! In fact, T ate so much for brunch I don't think he really ate anything for the rest of the day. He also finished his very last hour of driving on his way back home! Driver's license here we come....next week! After the mess Axl made last time we left him in his crate, we reenforced the doors with zip ties. We also made sure to take him on a wal...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...
